Interesting juxtaposition and question of responsibility, time frame, youth/educators involvement (or lack of). A little preachy but important discussion. - JM (Nettie) Daum

Who cares? I do. I can't comment on the "hoax" about which you wrote; however, I've also recently read a tweet agreeing with an article about it being perfectly okay with him to download unpaid for music, and I feel compelled to respond to this nonchalance.
These are complicated issues, yes, but even if I appear a simpleton, I'm going to say anyway that I want artists to be paid for their work, and I want straightforward sources of information (as much as is possible). If people want to pull publicity stunts, okay, but they lose credibility with me, and they go into the category of circus promoters.
These practices are more entertainment distraction, which harms us in the long run by diluting our attentiveness. I value veracity more than bookmark/click potential (which, as a consumer I believe is very misunderstood anyway), and I hope people won't allow themselves to be lulled into accepting junk just because they have more thrown at them than they can handle.

Sadness of illness, destruction (emo & phys), and commercialization overshadow film's humor and sweetness, which is there, esp at end, but not enough to cheer. - JM (Nettie) Daum
If only US films could integrate bodies and thoughtfulness so well into movies. Lightly records handling one's emotions and others'. Appealing brother-bond. - JM (Nettie) Daum
Saw too long ago to pinpoint but remember pace, tone and visuals as gentle and quite lovely as well as promise of unexpected encounters. - JM (Nettie) Daum
Hippos enjoy the cool waters in the Mara River. At this time of year however the water level is extremely low, forcing the hippos to stay near the steep river bank, where they can be easily speared by poachers. More here: http://maratriangle.wildlifed - JM (Nettie) Daum
Although I use "hook" also in writing, can't we invite our audience to then "sit a spell," as we say in the southern US, instead of reeling them in? ;) - JM (Nettie) Daum
From the page: "Use these 139 tips to improve your blog and make your business more successful. I wrote them down at the SOBCon08 business blogger conference last week in Chicago." - Chris Garrett
Are you really going to make us read 139! Off I go... =) - JM (Nettie) Daum
I agree, and wish ppl would also put their real names somewhere in twitter bio. I state "tweets by JM Daum" or "hosted by JM Daum of CVC." Something so ppl know who is tweeting. - JM (Nettie) Daum
"@corvida, you did it again! I was giving some advice to someone about joining Twitter and had some of the same rules, e.g. tweet a bit before you start trying to Follow a lot of people. When I decide whether or not to Follow someone back, here's what I look for in order of priority:
1. Followers/Followed - is this person a data scraper or spammer?
2. URL - I like people with URLs filled in. Preferably a blog.
3. Tweets - is there a mix of broadcast tweets and @ tweets? Do they look like they are engaging with other people on twitter? I also stay away from people who use Twitterfeed to spam me with all their posts without any commentary.
OK, ttyl corvida,

Thanks for the photos. You reminded me I'm supposed to be writing a twittours article on using twitter at conventions/events. On to it now. - JM (Nettie) Daum
Grey, grey, grey. Conventions, come to NC, where it's green, and visit Carrboro (even greener) while you are here since we don't have a hotel yet =) - JM (Nettie) Daum
