Thanks, folks--I think it will work out--but it is stunning how much it costs and how little we pay people who do childcare.

The PM over here is looking into the childcare industry and what can be done. Fees are astronomical, yet workers don't seem to get paid their worth and often have terrible working conditions (no breaks, expected to do insane amounts of paperwork outside of working hours, etc). Even with government assistance (Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate) some parents are finding it difficult to afford decent care.

Something is going to have to give - not sure how anyone can afford full-time infant care. Hang in there.

Childcare costs are crazy. A&T are in daycare part time but will have to switch to full time when I get into nursing school. I'm not sure how I'm going to afford the full time care, since it's tight affording the part time right now.
