@manasgarg, Mahabharata had 3 major writing phases: basic (Shantanoo to Battle), extensions (before & after), spirituality (Gods, Gita etc)
Mahabharata is so awesome, @intelshwets, because it is crowdsourced. It was edited/re-edited, just like the wikipedia.

Get google maps for your mobile. Enable latitude. Enable wikipedia layer. Walking encyclopedia of any place you visit.
