4Talent's annual awards tip young, emerging talent for great things in the future, and are judged by senior Channel 4 commissioners and leading independent producers. Categories include Short Documentary, Long Documentary, Dramatic Writing, Dramatic Performance, Directing, Comedy Writing, Comedy Performance, Presenting, On-Air Radio, Off-Air Radio, Music, Production Music, Music Video, Animation, Journalism and Photography. There are also two dedicated New Media categories, new for 2008: MULTI-PLATFORM is aimed at multimedia producers whose projects/campaigns are carried successfully across several platforms simultaneously, such as television, radio, viral, mobile, print and online. INNOVATION recognises original, groundbreaking approaches to media, particularly new media projects - including experimental mash-ups, widgets and creative uses of social networks. Deadline 29th AUGUST, 5pm. You must be aged 30 or under, and a resident of the UK, to enter. - Nick Carson
