I started sending some of my favorite Twitter posters' feeds to Google Reader a while back so I would be able to search back more than the 30 days Twitter search allows. This article brings things to another level. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Dave. This is the tool I've been waiting for so that I can complete my move to FriendFeed and use RSS for Twitter interaction.

Stupid Question but if you add new Twitter followers then you have to redo the import right?
- Nick Reynolds
Nick yes you do have to re-import. However if Google Reader would support dynamic reading lists, we could work out a way to keep them in synch. Wouldn't that be nice. :-)
- Dave Winer
Dave - the comment on Twitter couldn't be more true - I wonder how the social networking world will react to this ... and if some decentralization might start because of it. Seems like a melding of email, RSS, twitter, facebook, etc is what might come out in the end
- gregory leff
It will be EXACTLY like that scene in the Matrix where they are watching the code scroll by like rain. All feed converge to one, and we see them all simultaneously. Or not.

from BuddyFeed
@Dave yes, it would be nice :) We'll keep you posted.
- Mihai Parparita
Is this working? I'm getting an error... "Twitter returned an empty result."
- Jason Hansen
Dave: I figured it was due to that, but just wanted confirmation. Will try it out later.
- Jason Hansen
Thanks. I am going to use Google Reader more often instead of desktop RSS clients. More open.

I use Google Reader a *lot*, but I can't see any real benefit to importing your Twitter feeds into it. Page after page of small one line entries? No thanks.
- Otto
I use this adaptation and like it so much I stopped using all my other Twitter apps.

Maybe you're more connected to your Facebook network than you are your Friendfeed network (I know I am). The closer or more relevant the connection, the more top of mind
- Lindsay Davies
I did exactly the same, but I couldn't update Facebook either. Weird.
- Basheera Khan
I'm on Facebook all day, the same as Twitter. But they're completely different for me, I just don't follow or fan or friend enough people on Facebook to make it interesting all day, and I don't want to, like to keep it much more personal.

When they make their name finding 'the next big thing', they have to continue the hunt to maintain the credibility... Trashing the thing they helped make popular only adds to the mystic that they know what's coming around the bend.

I could also be asleep considering it's 12:20am here :P

Let them revolt to sub-par hardware and a lessened user experience. My guess is that many of these folks like to make a big spectacle of their ruffled feathers and do it for the ad impressions more than out of some misguided sense of justice. If this is how they react when the learn what the rest of us already knew (omg Apple isn't perfect!), then peace out, Nancies.

Or it could be the iPhone is fine as is, and they're looking for the next thing.

They tried with the iPod but they're still looking

"Revolt" doesn't imply "leaving amiably to check out an ostensibly better solution" :)

In the states the only choice is to jump to T-Mobile if you want to just swap carriers. Hardly a choice.

AT&T hasn't gotten any worse in my opinion. All these guys jumping ship knew what they were getting into.

Who The Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys - Arctic Monkeys
Josh and I are seeing them tonite at Highline Ballroom. We’re pumped.
Four years ago they wrote this song and these words:
Oh, in five years time, will it be
“Who the fuck’s Arctic Monkeys?”
Based on the songs I’ve heard so far on Humbug, I don’t think they have to worry too much. - http://fredwilson.vc/post...
I like having each service as an individual contact. Much easier. Can we see the same for Pownce?
- Chris Nixon
Well, IMified has taken bot to a next level.. I even created a customized option to check my google calendar appointments for today (a quick schedule for today) by interacting with bot! Not sure, if they have one for Pownce..

One year later. Just bumping this because it's the one year anniversary of the only item on FriendFeed to get more than 400 likes. (452 at the moment)

been debating unfollowing mashable because of it
- BCK
I give people a pass when it's something that really needs to be spread. Like when the police were harassing that blogger. Didn't know mashable was doing that. How lame.

Sometimes, the overuse of "RT" on twitter reminds me of watching the President give a speech on TV and then the anchors break in when it's over to say "Here's what he said, we're going to explain it to all you dumbasses now so you can understand."
- Trish R
Yeah it annoys me when people ask for RT's as if its interesting etc, it will get ReTweeted.
- Nicholas James
I'd like to see this functionality in a browser tab with the usual "pop-out" window option instead of in a standalone app. I have already made the switch with most of my IM clients if not all of them.

TweetDeck is beta... Seesmic Desktop is "preview"

This is where I learned from Leo how Twitter's suggested friends feature works.
