'Is hyperlocal all hype?' - http://www.journalism.co.uk/6...
The existence of hyperlocal news is morally vital. The accelerating decline of local newspapers leaves a dangerous void in its wake - a void in which, as Clay Shirky has predicted, 'casual endemic corruption' flourishes in the absence of a fierce journalistic watchdog. Thus there is a 'need' for hyperlocal news. That need, it is believed, will be served by a new breed of 'citizen journalists' blogging from their bedrooms - Sarah Booker

Hyperlocal Hopes May Be Blunted By Revenue Realities In 2010 - http://paidcontent.co.uk/article...
The promise for hyperlocal’s place in UK news is there, the boundless optimism is not in doubt and there’s even hints of a local business model emerging. But the delivery of quality post-code level news across most of the country still a long way off, and sustainable revenues and—dare we say it—profits are even further. - Sarah Booker
@brightonargus Jo RT @paulbradshaw: #pipes session All welcome btw #maonlinejournalism - Yay we can attempt to understand it.
