@HoldMe: grazie per la fiducia! hauhauhauh

Prego.

Tip: I use Google Reader a lot, and I'm lazy to select, copy and then paste on Evernote. So I just click on Email link in GReader and send the entire article/item to my Evernote email, then the article is pasted on my Evernote. It add two extra blue boxes, but no big deal. You can edit it later.
This is almost how I use "like" on FF now, but I have it automated. Every day I have a feed that pulls my daily posts and comments/likes into Evernote. Then if I ever need to remember that thing I liked I can just look it up in Evernote search. Easier than trying to find it again on FF, especially with the 8-page limit.
- Lindsay
Leandro, I created a FeedBurner feed out of my post feed and another one out of my comments/likes feed. I set up the FeedBurner account to offer the email subscription option and then I subscribed to it with my personal email account (GMail). Then I set up filters in GMail to forward the emails to my Evernote email account. Wish I could skip that step but you have to confirm the FeedBurner email subscription. Works fine. I get two new notes every day with 24 hours worth of my activity.
- Lindsay
Lindsay, you can skip that step. If you subscribe with your Evernote email address, FeedBurner should send the confirmation email straight to Evernote. You can then follow the confirmation link in your new note. Thats how I've done it. Hope that helps :-)
- David Adam
Oh, awesome, David! I never thought of that!
- Lindsay
Cool, I just set it up your way, David. That actually opens up a lot of other interesting possibilities... I'm going to redirect some of the news letters and notifications I get to that address and also have my DailyLit.com subscriptions sent there. I'm excited!
- Lindsay
Despite being a newbie Evernote-ster (I spent time during a holiday adapting my info-collecting habits to it), I had started doing this. Works great.

Many people, even Google Reader users, do not appreciate the full power of Google Reader. It is my central command post for managing a wide variety of information -- anything that can be channeled as feeds.
- Sean McBride
I've found that GR doesn't handle feeds for comments on individual blog entries too well -- it skips some and displays them out of order.

http://www.google.com/reader... I'm glad you asked this right now. I just realized that several people are following me and I didn't even know it. I hope it hasn't been this way for long!
- Michael Fidler
Just noticed that Reader now allows grouping of people you follow! Wondering: is Reader going to become a competitor (instead of complement) to FriendFeed?
- Chris Rogers
@rogersdc / Chris, Google Reader is obviously been trying to become more social, but I'd really like to see FF come out with a bookmarklet that makes sub'ing RSS feeds to FF easier/faster. Right now it's a manual process involving either a new Group/Room or Imaginary Friend. Should be 2 clicks tops.. Also see: http://friendfeed.com/alexsch...

Thanks Kol for starting this thread because I've been trying to cut down on the number of feeds I subscribe to and instead just follow interesting people.

Svartling: good point about adding people to groups. I noticed I couldn't comment on items that were shared by some users.

I've (we) written a lot of more good tips on how to use Google Reader in Google Reader comments. It's too bad we don't have permalinks in Greader so we can share our notes and comments. Otherwise I could have posted a link here. Here are some on friendfeed: http://friendfeed.com/svartli...

The conversation is really blowing up (in a good way) on Reader. The most important reminder currently is to set up groups and allow commenting. That is NOT on by default!

As I get older I find that I'm getting bored about discussions about belief. I've realized that it doesn't so much matter what you believe, but how you behave. What people believe doesn't seem to influence whether or not they are bigots or hypocrites, so at the end of the day people who treat others with respect get my respect, regardless of what
they may or may not believe. This statement does not discount the importance anyone places on their beliefs, it's where I place the importance of such things.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
But yeah, I just see conversations online and in my personal life where people say "Christians should do X" or "I don't like religion because it makes people judge each other/attack each other" and I think "religion doesn't make someone act any sort of way, people act how they act because they are people"...Having said that, I still find some discussions interesting from an intellectual point and it is helpful to understand what someone believes to understand their point of view on discussions.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
But I try not to put people in buckets just because of their beliefs. I certainly don't like it when people do that to me.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Oh and this is also not me telling anyone not to discuss whatever.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
I like all sorts of people - many of whom have completely different beliefs than I do. The difference lays in civility and the ability to find some common ground. Personally, I find the word "bigot" is thrown around way too easily. I've been called a bigot on more than one occasion simply because I'm atheist. As though that automatically pegs me as a bigot.
- Renee Hendricks
Yeah, bigotry is definitely an action and not a state of mind, in my opinion.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
And so am I...hope you're having a fantabulous weekend, Derrick.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
It seems to me that regardless of where you get your ideals from, you make the choice to live up to them or not... Most people can agree on a large set of those rules for behavior, but there are some we don't naturally agree on. Some people question the value of those non-universal rules, some people question the source, and others question the current relevancy... Those questions are where most of the contention really comes from, IMO.
- Lindsay
I came to the OP conclusion a while back. It's why I generally stay away from discussing religion and don't attempt to convince/change anyone's opinion in political discussions
- LANjackal

Depends on the task. When I'm crunching on a book deadline, working from home is better b/c no commute and no distractions. But for general work it helps to have input and feedback so the office is a more productive environment.

No matter how many times any of you leave Friendfeed and come back, I won't hold it against you. We all get frustrated at times and we all make mistakes. I'll always welcome you back with open arms.
Not me. I only welcome you back the first 8 times you leave and come back. After that, forget it.

Today we're adding a new experiment to Google Labs: Google Fast Flip, accessible at http://fastflip.googlelabs.com Fast Flip is a new reading experience that combines the best elements of print and online articles. Like a print magazine, Fast Flip lets you browse sequentially through bundles of recent news, headlines and popular topics, as well as feeds from individual top publishers.

Thanks, Keith! In all seriousness, comments like yours make the four months I spent writing it worthwhile. Also, to everyone who has purchased it: please help me out by leaving a review for it in the AppStore :) Exposing it to more people generates more revenue which lets me spend more time adding new features to it (like support for direct messages, real time support, and so on)

What you mean it doesn't do dm or real time??? Well in that case.... Only joking. I'll add a review for the UK store later. In all seriousness, this is a really cool app. It's looking like my default FF app from now on.

thanks again, Keith :) So, the backstory on DM is that this wasn't even supported for third party apps until the release of FF's v2.0 APIs, which only happened a few weeks ago. By then, I was in to final testing of my app, and didn't want to switch over to a new API version or figure out how to shoehorn in a feature I hadn't originally planned on. As far as real-time goes, I spent a lot...

I already have BuddyFeed which is a pretty decent app. I'll be downloading Stir too. I prefer the FriendFeed service to any other Social Networking destination but have to admit that, especially from the point of view of posting, I use Twitter more. The explanation is simple, superb third party iPhone apps, especially TwittelatorPro which is really best of breed. If Twitter wasn't served so well by the likes of TP then I'd hardly use it at all. Best of luck with this new application.
