I'm looking for an affordable laptop computer to be optimized for gaming. Mostly, I need it to play WoW and whatever other game I get myself addicted to. Any suggestions? Alienware is out of my range but I'd definitely like something better than the Circuit City special.

I have a Dell XPS laptop and it's great for gaming. I know people think Dell is mostly crap, but I've never had a problem with their XPS laptop line. This is my 3rd one, all of them only replaced when I wanted to upgrade. Not sure if that's outside of your price range, but it's something to look at as an option. :)

I can't speak from the gamer aspect, but I'm ok with Dell. I just wouldn't want to have less than a 2-year warranty.

Take a look at the Acer Aspire 6930G-6723. PC Magazine Editor's Choice and least expensive I could find with a gaming focus.
