"In yet another blow to Israel, the Obama administration announced on Tuesday that it will attempt to force Israel to give up its policy of 'nuclear ambiguity' - neither admitting nor denying that it has nuclear weapons. That policy has been in effect for more than 40 years. India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel should join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the global pact meant to limit the spread of atomic weapons, a senior U.S. official said on Tuesday. Speaking on the second day of a two-week meeting of the 189 signatories of the pact, Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller also defended a U.S.-India civilian nuclear deal, which developing nations have complained rewards New Delhi for staying outside the NPT. "Universal adherence to the NPT itself, including by India, Israel, Pakistan and North Korea ... remains a fundamental objective of the United States," Gottemoeller told the meeting, which hopes to agree on an agenda and plan to overhaul the treaty at a review conference next year."

"Yet Obama's policy is anything but realistic. By refusing to support the dissidents, he is not demonstrating that he is a realist. He is showing that he is immune to reality. He is so committed to appeasing the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ali Khamenei that he is incapable of responding to actual events, or even of taking them into account for anything other than fleeting media appearances meant to neutralize his critics. Rice and Axelrod demonstrated the administration's determination to eschew reality when they proclaimed that Ahmadinejad's "reelection" is immaterial. As they see it, appeasement isn't dead since it is Khamenei - whom they deferentially refer to as "the supreme leader" - who sets Iran's foreign policy. While Khamenei is inarguably the decision maker on foreign policy, his behavior since June 12 has shown that he is no moderate. Indeed, as his post-election Friday "sermon" 10 days ago demonstrated, he is a paranoid, delusional America-bashing tyrant. In that...

being gay is a choice. if you aren't hurting those around you then you didn't break the law. on the other hand from my perspective if a person acts differently then I have a right to figure them differently. problem is those that are open to those that are gay are often scapegoated themselves. I have always been supportive, but gay men don't want to be treated in the same manner as straight men. they have different needs. they might say otherwise, but I know to flatter more when I talk to a gay man. it is very hard to teach children not to hate if they can't have any expectations of behavior without being ostracized. it is the leftist culture that has made it worse for gay people as well. I don't ask that people not eat pork like I do. in the same respect more orthodox Jews then me tolerate my semi secularism. I respect the difference in gay people. "And in 10 years at the latest we want to offer a large number of all-electric vehicles at affordable prices and with the autonomy that our clients expect." Winterkorn added that VW was aiming for 1.0-1.5 percent of the global all-electric vehicle market by 2020. Another German manufacturer, Daimler, in late June launched Germany's first hybrid vehicle almost 10 years after market leader Toyota. German companies until now have mainly focused on diesel engines and, as a result, hybrids represented only 0.2 percent of the market last year, with the sale of 6,500 Toyota, Lexus or Honda models, according to national registration figures. Volkswagen in late May signed a preliminary agreement with BYD of China to produce hybrid or electric cars, having reached a deal in February with Toshiba of Japan on the development of engines for such vehicles."

Specifically, one of the echo chamber utterances we keep hearing from the mainstream media about Michael Jackson is the claim that "he united the world." It's complete fertilizer. That's why I wrote several years ago (and was roundly attacked for it) that the countries whose people love Michael Jackson (and soccer) most are usually the countries and people who hate us (and support terrorism) the most. Just because others around the world like or do something we do in America, doesn't mean it "unites" us. Osama Bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad eat and go to the bathroom, just like we do. Does that mean these things that we both have in common unite or unify us? Not really. Didn't save the people on the planes.
