July 1 is the date by which the six largest cable TV companies agreed last year to have 100 percent of their headends supporting the Tru2way interactivity standard. But, Light Reading's Cable Digital News reports that five of the six companies may not have met the goal. Since a mutually-agreed-upon goal is all that's at stake, there won't be any penalties involved for missing the goal, and probably not even much of an uproar.

Apparently, ITV is considering charging micropayments for its catch up service. Considering how poor their technology implementation is, this may seem laughable. But there does seem to be an inevitability about charging being introduced to internet delivery of TV.

It plugs into your home broadband connection and transmits a standard 3G GSM signal so that up to four mobile calls can happen at any one time. Using femtocel technology it should let rural customers and anyone with low inside coverage get reception again.
