"Not long ago every maemo-related persom has seen sort of rumors from the mobilecrunch and especially cellpassion. The first one has pretty detailed description of the upcomming Maemo device and the second has “leaked” photo of it. I had some free time to redraw the device from that “leaked” shot and I’d like to say that it looks like fake. See for yourself:"

i upgraded my n810 to diablo, and installed a-gps betait still takes me forever and a day to get a gps lock, if ever. does ur location in the world play a part? .
- Alphonsus Lee
i'm in singapore. i've installed a-gps beta, and moved the location pointer to the singapore region. but the gps still takes forever. is there some config file that i have to edit manually to get gps cranking?
- Alphonsus Lee
a-gps shall work Ok in Singapore - send feedback to A-GPS project on betalabs http://www.nokia.com/A41163987 btw, do you have wifi or gprs/3g working while try to lock GPS? without that A-GPS is helpless
- A.T.
@silpol: gprs/3g? on the n810? how? :-)
- Stelian Iancu
I find it very confusing that people tend to say "connected" - this is very old paradigm. for TCP/IP networks they prefer to say "has at least default gateway working" meaning that packets originated on your host (here it is N810) can go out and reach server. The fact it is bluetooth works as wireless *wire* between N810 and some phone , or whether it is WiFi - it doesn't matter much
- A.T.
So for those WITH an N810, does the Diablo browser handle the new 'me.com' website reasonably, or is blocked for incompatibility? I gotta get to my local Nokia store to see...
email, twitter, google feed reading. I'd like to know if there's a decent twitter client for the N810.
- Jason
im, email, browsing, music, games. I usually just twitter from my phone on the go as there is no twitter client at all that I have found for the n8x0.

I just got my N810 a couple of days ago. So far I do everything from the web browser: email (Gmail), read RSS feeds (Google Reader), and follow people on FriendFeed and Twitter. Works like a charm after I upgraded to Diablo.

I just got one and so far i have been using it on the couch for IM, gmail, light web browsing. Its a lot of fun, but im not sure i can use it to get any real work done. I have also tried eCoach to GPS track my daily run- useful, but not something i want to run with in my pocket.

Since I live in the browser on other computing devices, I usually live in the browser on the N810. I do like some apps, like Vagalume for last.fm streaming, or various games, Mauku for monitoring/posting to Jaiku (unfortunately the API being flaky causes Mauku to stop working), and some other apps I'm forgetting right now. But mainly use the browser for Gmail, GReader, Jaiku, etc.

i'm really impressed with the new diablo update. the browser now flies through web 2.0 apps. meebo works like a charm. don't have to install pidgin or rtcomm anymore!! everything can be done through the browser!
I am hoping to see wimax N810 here in NYC this year. I have a treo 700p and am in serious need of upgrade. I am going to wait to see the iphone 3G and hopefully the N810w to compare them
In theory if he doesn't leave the WiMax enabled area he could just use skype on his n810 as his phone.
- Robert Jorgenson
indeed.... i'd like to hear from someone who has actually used skype on the n810 to get their sense for well it works, call quality, etc...
- torr
I've used skype on the n810 over a wifi connection, never a cellular one, but it worked fantastically. I was even able to pair my jawbone with my n810 to make phone calls. A persistent skype friendly connection seemed so ideal at that point =)
- Robert Jorgenson
AT&T is scared of WiMAX - it'd put pressure on them to open up their hardware and software, and they wouldn't want THAT.
- Jonathan Fingas
so for those who live in north america, one need not consider the n810 WiMax edition unless one lives in baltimore, chicago or washington d.c... which is a bummer because this device would be really great if connected without WiFi hotspots.
- torr
Not to mention that the service isn't live in Baltimore until September and the other two cities before EOY. The second wave of cities was announced, but no true time frame. No pricing for plans announced yet either. Oy!
- Kevin C. Tofel
It's almost DOA here ... NYC was supposed to get it this year, but not looking good at all. I would much rather have a SIM based device than WiMax which will only work in certain metros - if ever. DUN FTW for now...
