Location: Teviot Underground Launch party for our newest release: a double A-side single from Book Group. Apart from them, expect very special guests, DJs, dancing, and cheap booze in the belly of Teviot. Formed in Edinburgh in 2012, Book Group have slowly-but-surely been bringing their take on fuzzy indie rock to anywhere that will have them. Formed from the ashes of four other Edinburgh bands, their lives shows have been compared to the likes of Grandaddy, The Lemonheads and The Twilight Sad. Front man Graeme Anderson uses story-driven lyrics, vocal harmonies and synths to bring pop sensibilities to walls of thundering drums and feed-backing guitars, and Book Group were invited to open Fence Records’ (RIP) inaugural Gnomegame Festival, 2013’s Aberfeldy Festival, and play to a packed tent at Wickerman this summer. Their debut EP ‘Homeward Sound’ (produced by Ric Rogass - Broken Records) sold out on vinyl, and now live favourite ‘Victory Lap’ and new song ‘A Lowdown of a LOUD Sound’... - Andy Lobban

John Knox Sex Club + Over the Wall + Special Guests at Stereo, Glasgow on 19 Oct 2013 -
Location: Stereo Tickets £5 in advance from Tickets Scotland - John Knox Sex Club --- The band had grown up together in Glen Curney, a small mining-fishing village in Stirlingshire, but had lost track of each other until they met again while working in a nightclub. After much discussion they decided to form a band which would channel the MC5 and Fugazi. This they did not do; instead they formed 'The John Knox Sex Club' (sometimes no the). They have since released 2 critically lauded and commercially viable albums on their own Last Blast label. They have toured the UK and played local support slots with amongst others Frightened Rabbit, We Were Promised Jetpacks & Of Montreal. Along with this they have played unusual one-off events such as Rough Cut Nation in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the launch of Creative Stirling in St Allen's Parish Church on Good Friday 2012.
