"I feel your pain!!! : ) I just read today that the US market is only 6% of the world share. No wonder Nokia ignores us, they've got bigger fish to fry. The N97 mini and E75 should come with US frequencies. The X6 is also quite nice."

"Personally, I'm quite thankful that these guys are hammering this phone. I always wonder about a device's durability, and I doubt I'll ever push it as far as Tehkseven has. Thanks, Paul!"

"True, at 3G would be nice for at customers. Since I'm on at, all I get is EDGE when I'm out and about. But I'm mostly at home or work, where we've got speedy WiFI, so it's not too bad. The N900 does support T-Mobile's US frequencies, so T-Mo customers are stoked..."

"haha, yeah. I give everybody that look, because I've got my finger on the pulse of the internet! : ) I like your idea of trying different tasks on different phones. I'd love to do that, and I think it'd be very valuable to many people! I do not have the time to actually put that together. Editing and rendering video, even this little uncut 21 minute clip, takes DAYS. I rendered this video three times to get the quality good enough, with a file size small enough for Vimeo. Even with a ripping fast computer, it's still a very slow process. Video is still hard, and it annoys me to no end."

"Thanks, Rosh! I don't even remember that part, so I'll hafta go back and watch it again. I don't really hate steampunk, I'm just a utilitarian."

"Excellent point, Mr Larner! The big companies should be scared because these are the next tech leaders. The "kids don't tweet" argument is like the old "Why can't Billy read" argument. Little Billy will learn to tweet when he see's something useful come from it. Personally, getting these teens on stage looks like a marketing promo. See! Here's the future! Learn how to market to them, so you can own the future! Here kid, here's your $100 for two hours of marketing research. Intel cares about kids ...dollars. Wasn't there a question, "What if Facebook charged $1/mo." The answer "I'd move to MySpace". Telling."

"Verdict noted. Thanks! : ) Anybody else want to weigh in on this?"

It looks fair to me. The rules are : 1. always link to your source (done) 2. add ...something (graphic, post title, done) 3. don't copy and paste entire article (done).

"Surveillance only works for everyone when every one can create their own media. With every phone becoming a camcorder, people are will need to be nice in public, or the public will post it on the internet. Mike42 makes some good points too, but I don't know any easy solutions. My answer is "The Internet" : ). Peer review makes most things better, IMHO."

When I helped a friend pick out a Verizon phone, the salesguy was claiming MassStorage is a feature. Very few Verizon devices support Mass Storage, including the crippled Nokias they hustle.

"Personally, I would choose the i8910 over the N97. The N97 is pretty slow for many things. Even unlocking it takes two seconds, so I relock it trying to get it to react. I found myself frustrated at the slowness of the N97. The i8910 did not leave me frustrated, and has a better video camera, and screen. I prefer the large touch keyboard on the i8910 over the tiny, hard keyboard of the N97. Granted, the N97 will get better with firmware updates. And the 32GB storage is great. They're both great choices, and either will make most users happy."

"Totally. I want to buy one now, but I just cut down to part time at work to blog more, so buying new devices might not be the smartest thing for me to do. It's down to $689 here in the States."

"What about the built-in 32GB of memory? 32GB + 5MP camera + qwerty really stands alone in the market. Add in Sports Tracker and Share Online, and it's a real powerhouse! Needs more ram and CPU, tho."

I installed N-Gage on mine yesterday -- trying really hard to find something positive to say about it...

iPhone rules for gaming. $10 games are shit. ten 99c games is a better deal.
