I am *so* tired of SD touting their API and their *wonderful* features. We have a lower-level SD product, and what SA fails to mention is that it will definitely cost you to have access to that API or those great features. If they spent so many years perfecting the user experience, why not make those things standard? RSS? We don't have it in our ILS. Permalinks? Nope. Spelling...

You seem to like Astro Boy & the ukulele, perhaps you know of where I might be able to find uke tabs for the Astro Boy theme song? (the very old one!)
- Monica Ford
hahaha funny thing is, i've looked! can't find them...i have a uke, but dont' know of any others...will keep my ears open though...and craigslist might be helpful! I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones. John Cage US composer of avant-garde music (1912 - 1992)

I have to admit, I was really hoping this was a big hall with lots of trampolines in it, and you were going for an evening of free-wheeling bouncing. It sounded therapeutic.
- andrew colgoni
omg i have to find this...or make this happen...if i do, you're the first partner in crime ;)
- janimal
I was hoping for the same thing! I smell a business opportunity!
- RudĩϐЯaЯïan
We used to watch them as a family every... Saturday? night. I cannot remember squat about it. Clearly these are blocked memories due to trauma.

HAHA. they're hosting some show on tv right now called "rediscovered". we had their dolls growing up. i made barbie make out with donny a lot.
- janimal
I remember they had a talk show when I was growing up...they were really, really bad too
- Sir Shuping
I seldom watch TV, and it's not something I'd switch it on for, I must admit

"E.T. is seen as marking the beginning of Atari's downfall and is often viewed as one of the biggest commercial failures in video gaming history, as well as the worst video game ever made.[1] E.T. was a contributing factor to Atari's massive financial losses during 1983 and 1984, and a glut of unsold copies of the game helped contribute to the video game crash of 1983. As a result of overproduction, hundreds of thousands of unsold cartridges were buried in a New Mexico landfill."

Ha! We got this game as a gift, played it once and then used it to prop up a table leg in the garage.
- Anika
omg yes i can sing you the theme song: "doo dooo do do do do do dooo. do doo dooo do do do do do dooo." hahaha you had to find the magic place in the forest to phone home.
- janimal
I remember liking this game too. Not the best game ever, but fun.
- DGentry
I liked this game. And *beat* it. One of the first that I actually ever beat.

Considering my fave part of Forrest Gump is when he "ruins" the roommate's bathrobe, this video is always so right up my alley...
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I was stone-faced watching this, then I lost it after the first jizz.... It is a bit Conchords-ish as some people had mentioned.

These photos remind me of when our miniature dachshunds were puppies. Full-grown they're less than 7 lbs each, but this is a reminder about how small they were.

Mine lived to be 15, he was a good dog. Our birthdays were 4 days apart!
- Daniel J. Pritchett
i hope my kid doesn't see these. if she does, i'm going shopping for a weiner dog this weekend, that's for sure....
- Morgan Haley
OMG that puppy is soo freakin' cute! adorable overload!!

1 on my bathroom counter, none in my purse. I don't like the way lip stuff feels, unless they're chapped and I'm using some form of lip balm, but that's rare.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
NONE! Also: No purse! I do have a stick of chapstick in my briefcase though.
- Sparky Crocker
I'm horrified. I dug TEN different lip products from my purse just now. One Burt's Bees lip balm, one tinted organic grapeseed oil lip balm, five different lipsticks, one lip stain, and two tinted lip-plumping shimmer glosses that are matched to two of the lipsticks. I clearly need to stay away from Sephora for a while...
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I also clearly need to clean out my purse...upon further inspection, I've just found three mini mascaras, four pairs of tweezers (but no mirror), an a $20 bill crammed deep into a corner.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
none in any purses (i have a dozen or so). one in diaper bag, ten billion in makeup bag
- InPerpetualMotion(Gina k)
no purse, laptop briefcase (softsided techie bag) = 3 (chapstick, neutral color lip liner pencil and lipstick) I don't wear makeup nearly as much as I used to
- Susan Beebe
i'm so glad i'm not the only make-up addicted librarian

i'm totally changing my morning routine to avoid the 8:10 to 8:30 madness even though i'll get to work too early (and will use newly acquired derby hip checking skills accordingly ;p)

I thought Canadians were polite? Maybe they were just all afraid I had a gun.

FriendFeed question: Before going to a concert, live show, whatever... the day of the show - do you like to saturate yourself with listening to tracks of the band you are about to see? or do you think this is overkill?
I like to listen to a bunch of the band's music before hand so I know there songs. At the shows I usually go to, if you don't know the lyrics and aren't very familiar with the music you'll stick out.
- Brandon Titus
I'm usually so amped I can't help but do it. Probably do it for a couple days after the show too. ;)
- Derrick
yeah, that's definitely the case for me...but usually AFTER the show I go on a hiatus of that particular band/artist's material for a little while
- Louis Simoneau
Yes to listening before and savoring after. :)
- Ayşe E.
I haven't been to a show in forever... need to go.
- Nation Hahn
I always do this. It's definitely NOT overkill. It's usually the best way to acquaint yourself with newer material.
- Mark Wilson
Nope. No matter what the show is I will listen to anything BUT on the way, and then King's X - Please Come Home Mr. Bulbous on the way home. Seriously. That album is just beyond great. It's tradition now.
- Josh Haley
I do some light listening before the show, but it's afterwards where I just lay it on thick because I don't want the night to stop. :)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
@Melissa Knowing the songs by heart before going to a concert or stage production makes it so much better :)
- Brandon
i always listen to the same album before i go to any concert. Spring Session M by Missing Persons. It was my first concert by myself back in the day and is still a kick ass, get you in the mood to rock/boogie/shake it/drink no matter who you are getting ready to go see. And it's tradition after all. So there.
- Morgan Haley
I listen to tracks before the concert but not afterwards. The ride home is anything but what I just listened to for hours.
- David Cook
I was going to mention that Morgan, but now that you're on here more I can let you speak for yourself. Spring Session M has been very good to us.
- Josh Haley
I don't, mostly because I am a radio listener
- RAPatton
I'll listen to related music the day of, perhaps some artists who've worked with the band I'm going to see, but never the band itself. Afterward I'll some ambient or soft classical to wind down after a particularly hard show.
- Rob H.
I'm travelling around South America for the next 2 weeks guys, so you won't see too much of me. Will drop the odd like, comment and share when I can though.Gonna miss you folk, have a great couple of weeks.
Cool. Ontario's making a lot available - had never heard of it - "askON is a real-time chat information service that offers immediate, interactive, and knowledgeable research and reference help on-line. Earlier in the election cycle Chuck from Rocketboom and the Uptake, captured this incredible window into the daily lives of a small town, radically conservative and religious group of women revealing their thoughts on politics. While most Republican's are not extremists, it appears that Sarah Palin may be. To think that she would develop political policy based on a deep rooted belief in "End of Days" [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... ], is nothing short of frightening.
- Andrew Baron
Scary. All you sane "leftists" are more than welcome here in Aus though, but you'll have to redefine yourselves as "moderate", since your Democratic party is about as left as the Australian conservative parties ;-)
- Warren
Most of the women I grew up with in Mississippi sound like this. These ladies are relatively liberal in my experience as well.
- Internet's Tad
Tad, this video is related to the thinking Palin may exhibit in her staunch belief in what the women in this video referred to as the "End Time".
- Andrew Baron
I agree with Mary-another vote to unsubscribe. Persistent complaints and trolls on lib list seem to draw too many frustrated ppl who could nip at your optimism. You can always check out a library staffing company.
- judithsweet
thanks guys. i've decided to unsubscribe.
- janimal
I unsubscribed long ago and am happier for it
- marthalib
agreed. i had to unsubscribe long ago for my own sanity. (although warmaiden may have temporarily sucked me back in)
