huh... several questions: is it tone generation or sample-based? He says it's both for the same example... maybe it's synth for every sound but for piano? and... are you buying one?

Hmm, seems there is a "suzuki au 200 silent"... it's not an yamaha but it is less expensive. On the other hand, I can't see the silent suzuki's lists and specs...

Not really... if I can't even find its specs :-P Anyway, I've seen what Yamaha has available, and the only pianos (in Portugal) they sell that do MIDI-out are Grand Pianos... no way I'm getting one of those :-P Might have to stick with digital pianos...

It's an acoustic piano with MIDI encoding for all keys and a "super-muffle", that takes the hammers off the strings if you want to use the tone-generator. It's nothing new, really.

The keys are as heavy as they are in a real piano, the instrument is as heavy as a real instrument (vertical piano), but you can play in "silent" mode and have the normal features of an electric keyboard, minus pitch bend, vibrato and all the other knobs and faders. Great for piano players, I guess.

Who would say that my first recording using the stylophone would be a metal track? This is quite hard to play when you're headbanging... And solos are hard here
