SaturdayFF#: I built my first ever software package for deployment yesterday. It took me a day and a half to work out the scripting but I got it going. I still have some tweaks to do but its working and I'm proud of it. I feel all Desktop Engineeringy.
Words feel so hollow and inadequate when someone you know is going through a serious illness or death in the family. I never know what to say. I don't want to give the trite, cliche responses but I feel like that's what I always end up doing.
We got word today that the baby we were going to adopt (before the fiasco with the birth mother) was born prematurely and didn't live. Even though we never met her and due to recent events would not have ended up adopting her Kesha and I are both saddened by this news. I guess we had grown more attached to her than we thought.
What's up with all the new Head Referees this season in the NFL? A couple of them seem like naturals announcing the calls but the others look like deer in the headlights. Tonight's guy looks pretty good.
Another Thursday night. Another blowout. If I were intrigued by the baseball match-ups I'd switch over to one of them. Alas I'm just sitting here with the game on wishing basketball season would hurry up and start already.
Looks like we're going to have to walk away from this new adoption situation. I was very angry earlier but now I'm just sad. The dishonesty of some people in this world is sickening and disgusting especially when the life of a child is at stake. I pray that the child is born healthy and somehow someway ends up in a good home. It just won't be ours.
Listing to this new album by Hozier on iTunes First Listen. Really digging it. The mellow haunting melodies match my mood perfectly tonight. What's up with all of these soulful Brits coming out with albums recently? Good stuff. https://itunes.apple.com/us...
So my first day of work went well. I'm excited about this opportunity. It's related to but so different from what I've done before. Looks like it's going to be a tremendous learning/growing experience!
Do kids ever sleep through the night? Our Little Man just hit the 14 month mark and I can count on 2 hands (only needing a couple of fingers on the 2nd hand) the number of times he's slept all night. Good Lord it's tiring.
