@ddribin well wishes man! Hope it's not serious :(
@BigZaphod For reference, I'm going from portrait modal --> landscape modal --> portrait modal. Why? You'll see eventually :)
@BigZaphod That won't work, I tried. Adding the view to your window doesn't properly reorient the status bar. presentAsModal will.
Want a modal view to appear on top of your *entire* app? You need to walk the modalViewController hierarchy and present from the top #XCTOTD

I'm still blown away by what people are making out of *nothing* but an iPhone: http://www.questionsleep.com/mindspi...
@rob_rix Huh, good idea! Though I have to say, if you're doing something the lang should you're usually doing it wrong.
@ctp I'm guilty of using .length and .count :) Laziness prevails, if you ask me. Only thing that sucks is Xcode won't auto-complete it.
Yay, a new version of some proprietary browser extension controlled by Microsoft that lets you write apps just as crappy as AIR! #sigh
Wow, the amount of @reply spam I'm getting today is epic. There really should be a simple button that just lets me flag an account as spam.
@sam_wen not anymore - we have the iPhone.
USA gets the latest tech, Europe gets the latest cars.
while (YES) { if ([self awake]) { [self work]; }
Wow, just tried to sell an old 3G iPhone on craigslist. I was not prepared for the onslaught of phone calls.
Well I know I'm prepared for living in SF: working on the bullet caltrain is like working during an earthquake.
Apparently there's a free movie in downtown SJ tonight! http://maps.google.com/... http://twitpic.com/9r4eg

Today started out sucking, but has so far become awesome.
@willjohansson Yeah, but BB is a crappy embedded OS that can only run java mobile. That's not the same thing as a full mac os x stack.
@willjohansson The same place your battery life would be: NON EXISTENT.
@arwyn My definition of unshackled meant the SDK capabilities. iPhone runs nearly full Foundation, not FoundationLite.
@willjohansson you CAN'T write WebKit in HTML/JS. Native SDKs will always be around. Do you not see the problem? It stiffles innovation.
If you build it, they will come. iPhone OS: a fully posix, unshcakled native SDK. 50k apps and growing. Is any other company listening??
Chrome OS has the same problem as "iPhone SDK 1.0", you can't write native apps. I get that's the whole point of it, and that's why it sucks
I think people are overlooking the power of having consistent interfaces that are dictated by the OS standard controls. I think it will be a usability setback when each app is designed differently. - Larry Roth
@travis I asked awhile back if that bothered folks, I didn't get much response. I get lots of replies on FB, so peope seem to use it.
@LarryRoth could you turn off whatever's auto tweeting all your friendfeed votes? Hard to follow folks with lots of automated posts.
@bmf Got a new place eh? Nice!
Wish I could mark some of my snail mail as junk so the postman wouldn't deliver it.
