Fresh @ thebluebear dot-com: Looking at FriendFeed's today, envisioning a better future (http://thebluebear.com/blog...)
Thomas Power who said "There is no doubt Friendfeed is the most advanced app on the Internet right now." (see http://friendfeed.com/thomasp... ) is not one of FriendFeed's founders. Where did you get this idea? - Meryn Stol
@Meryn Hi, I think Thomas initially shared this on his twitter, with a Fwd: tag. And these words, "..It has interestingly taken me 2 years to program it to do what I want it to do and I haven't finished..." makes it sound like words of a FF founder. I contacted Thomas to trace the source, but he has not yet responded. I will update once I know more... - Onur Kabadayi
Onur, very good analysis, agree that UI improvements are necessary - Jeroen De Miranda
@Onur Thanks for this detailed analysis. One small thing when Twitter has reached to Oprah or Ashton it was already a phenemenon. Celebrities were there because of the massive audience. Not that they make Twitter tick. - Hakan Demirci
Thanks Hakan, you're right that twitter had lots of users before Ashton & Oprah. However, I think my main point can still be valid, that the "mainstream" (as in tens, hundreths of millions) adoption & awareness was triggered by celebs. http://cli.gs/mmSG7D shows lots of celebs getting on board around 03/2009. http://cli.gs/0QuSRH shows oprah joining in 04/2009. http://siteanalytics.compete.com/twitter... shows that 8M uniques in 02/2009 more than doubled in 03/2009 to 14M, and to 20M uniques in 04/2009. - Onur Kabadayi
