I was just thinking how much I love the stuff TheNextWeb covers, and musing on it being our very own Zee. We knew him way back when. I mean, was TheNextWeb so big and comprehensive back in 2008? Was it even around? I hadn't heard of it till I came here.
- Laura Norvig
Yes, Mo asked to participate in the Ass Roasting. I wasn't really serious about it until Mo asked. Then I had to make it exist.
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
LMAO, Kamilah so awesome, but you missed Sean's half-stache and goatee. Those would have made it even more awesome.
- Gimminy
aw, shoot. I checked, but I wasn't sure about the status of his facial hair.
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
This is THE. BEST. THING. ON. THE. INTERNET. EVER. *weeps for joy*
- MoTO #TeamMonique
I'm tempted to lie about it just to see what I'd look like in one of your illustrations
- chrisofspades
oh, though sketch is good, ever had an exhibition?
- testbeta
I always knew it. The first time I saw Mo Kargas on FF, I knew he could roast asses with his eyes.
- Joshua
Thanks, everyone :) I don't know that I can sell the original sketchbook, it's really my personal journal. As I say from time to time, though, my goal is to do some larger drawings and paintings, and eventually I hope to sell those, I just need, like, 48 hours in a day to get everything done... it's going to happen somehow, soon. I have had some of my work exhibited at various times,...

Kamilah, you're here! You should subscribe to me. :)
- EricaJoy
What happens if I subscribe to you, Erica? Is something in particular happening over on your feed?
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Nothing interesting happening on my feed but I bet $100 I could make your day. :)
- EricaJoy
By the way Kamilah? I want the MoBot on a t-shirt.... Pleeeaaaasssseeee???
- MoTO #TeamMonique
Yes, giant robots are made of win. I dunno, Barry... last time I tried to make a t-shirt, people got all excited but no-one bought it (DYSP!). I might just make a design but not bother to try setting up a Spreadshirt (or whichever one it was that I used) for it. I'll have to see.
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
I could do that somehow, I guess. I've taken payments through PayPal before. I wonder what pose the MoBot should be in? Have some source material I could work from?
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Kamilah, you are truly Princess Wave! Awesome, totally awesome!
- WoH: Professor MOTHRA
FF is that comfy pair of shoes, that hole in the pj bottom pants. Not going away from the comfort ;)
- Janet:#TeamMonique
I can't commit too much time to G+ unless/until the names policy gets fixed. But what the others said too. FF is still superior technically, visually, and the FFeeps are still here.
- Tinfoil 2.0
It's definitely the place I would go if FF disappeared. However, it's not at FF feature levels yet.
- c.a.j.
Until, there is actual blocking of people who annoy, there's no point. Also, FF is a hell of a lot better since most of the drama creators have disappeared.
- Anika
from Android
What Janet said. Just because your sneakers are old it doesn't mean you need new ones. Plus, new sneakers just aren't made the same.
- Heather
I just don't like a lot of small things about g+ most of them are my same gripes from Buzz. I'm still planning my monthly g+ visit in a week or so.
- Joe "Funkasaurus" Pierce
I would still want a lifestream site if FF went down. G+ doesn't do imports.
- Rodfather
I was big into G+ until I got divorced whereupon I ran back to FriendFeed all blubbery-like. I want to get back into G+ but it's matter of finding the time; with my new job, I have precious little time for it. I need to get back in there and pretty much uncircle most everyone and start again. My account's a huge mess and I'm dreading going in there for the clean-up. I'm going to need a haazmat suit.
- Akiva
You'll have to pry my Tumblrs from my cold dead hands. :D
- Steven Perez
I suspect Google+ was more the network that got your Facebook peeps to finally find a new home...and then barely use it.
- Soup in a TARDIS
Anika, I thought there is blocking on G+?
- Kol Tregaskes
Agree, G+ is not FF... Yet. I think in time it will gain the features us FriendFeeders take for granted. Groups are on the way, which will make a huge difference I think.
- Kol Tregaskes
For me though, I use Google+ more than FF now just because very few chat to me on FF nowadays :-( and more chat to me on G+.
- Kol Tregaskes
Like a lot of us, I'm on both, but there's a lot of what feels like crowding on Google+ right now which I'm sure will settle down as people figure out what interests them. I'm also not fond of their 'we kick people off' tendencies, which I'm hoping they'll amend.
- Jennifer Dittrich
Best feature of FriendFeed: It's not as popular...oh, and people can't make it *my* task to avoid following them. "Here, surely you really want to see my SEO spam" is, I think, the worst feature of G+.
- Walt Crawford
I know this is beating a dead horse, but it still cracks me up when people ooh and ah about the realtime posting/commenting updating on google plus when we've been living with it here for all these years.
OMG MY COMMENT JUST TOTALLY UPDATED RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES. *calls everyone she knows*
- Hookuh Tinypants
IMMA TYPE MOAR JUST SO I CAN SEE IT!!!
- Laura Norvig
Ah, but I've operated FF in pause mode ever since I got here...and so far I haven't located the pause mode for G+. I'm sure they'll have one eventually. Real-time updating gives me vertigo.
- Walt Crawford
And it's actually not even up to par with FF
- Shevonne
Well FF is a more mature product and service in terms of Stream..if only Realtime Multiuser Vid Chat was introduced. .it would have been a killer app :)-
- Peter Dawson
Yeah, it kinda drags compared to the slickness of FF realtime.
- Gus
I don't know if how Friendfeed collapses comments is necessarily better than how Google+ does it, but being used to Friendfeed's method makes me dislike Google+'s method.
FF is more space efficient, so I like it better.
- Todd Hoff
Plus G+ is dumb. Sometimes I see a post with 2 comments, and it has collapsed the first one. You click to expand, and the comment is just one line, and is the exact same height as the "click here to expand" message.
- Stephen Mack #TeamMomo
Still trying to wrap my mind around Google+. I am confronting similar feelings towards this that I had towards Google Buzz. Those feelings can be summed up by Meh. Everything I'm reading and watching says it's great but I think I still prefer FF. Maybe I'm just stubborn and stuck in my ways but I just don't get G+ (yet).

if you search for "blakc peolpestole my car" you can see the same result.. just change for the correct one and take a print screen... hahaha this is hell funny
- Rafael
huh...I tried both and neither gave a 'did you mean....' Why the difference?
- George Gray
George, this was from earlier. I think it's probably been fixed by now.
- Thomas Hawk
I can't reproduce the results either. Even more proof that Google's damage control department works real f-a-s-t
- BLOGBloke
I can reproduce these results (as it's fake). 1 - Do a google search for 'balck people stole my car' 2 - when the results come back, in the search box type 'white people stole my car'. 3 - Screenshot and fool everyone.
- Will Higgins™
Thomas...ah...I was catching up on my feed and didn't notice when the message posted. Still, I have noticed different results when using Google from: the browser search bar, going right to google.com and when logged into google via iGoogle. Weird.
- George Gray
This reminds me of how commercials for home alarm systems always feature white criminals.

Dude, you win 1000 times over for use of the word 'colored'. I'm about as far from a racist as you can get but that shit cracks me up every time.

i think that google isnt racist, but people that use it yes..infact google shows firstly the most popular results.....this is my opinion..and please apologize me formy english..i'm italian!w La pizza!

Hi Louis Thanks for the heads up about Lazyfeed. I have tried to register but it needs an invitation code. Can you or anyone in your network please let me know what I should put in? Thanks
- Jane Finch
Very well done, I now have a better understanding of how it works. Anymore invites? Thanks
- Mo Hall
why doesn't Lazyfeed have a feed for FF?
- Thomas Power
Thomas, Lazyfeed's founders are just now getting to understand FriendFeed better. Maybe with time.
- Louis Gray
LazyFeed looks great.! Thanks for this video Louis, super interesting (I like your fast pace too). Would love an invite if you have 1.
- Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Hi, thanks everyone for your interest in Lazyfeed. We are excited to tell you that we will be releasing more invite codes via Twitter today. To receive your invite, please follow @lazyfeed on twitter and we will DM you an invite code. This invitation will expire midnight PST. Thank you!
- Lazyfeed
Louis, thanks for this wonderful quick tutorial. I am off to experimenting with Lazyfeed now. I wonder how you use it in conjunction with GReader, since I also find you sharing lot of stuff on GReader as well.
- Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Love lazyfeed so far, but it won't connect with my Twitter acct even after I set up and click connect - only Flicr, etc..Anyone else have this issue.
- Liza + = ?
Liza - I've just tried connecting your twitter to my lazyfeed and it seems to be successfully bringing tags like lazyweb, trip, techkaraoke, etc. Please try again. Thanks.
- Ethan Gahng
Now that is GREAT customer service, Ethan. Thanks.. I want to learn more about lazyweb and ppl interacting from lazyfeed. Seeing it from my google dev friends. Any ideas?

Very nice video here. I will use this to share with all my people. Thanks Louis.

I always wish they'd show what these things look like from something other than the exactly perfect perspective. Because to most people passing by these would look totally different.

"A massive Phase 3 trial of a malaria vaccine is now underway in Africa, with 5,000 children enrolled already out of a target population of 16,000. If results are favorable, marketing approval could be sought as early as 2012, making it the first commercial vaccine available for the disease, researchers said Tuesday in announcing the trial at the 5th Multilateral Initiative on Malaria Pan-African Malaria Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. "This is a tremendous moment in the fight against malaria and the culmination of more than two decades of research, including 10 years of clinical trials in Africa," said Dr. Joe Cohen, vice president of research and development, vaccines for emerging disease and HIV, at GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, which is producing the vaccine. Cohen is a co-inventor of the vaccine. Malaria is a major health problem around the world. It kills more than 1 million people each year, 90% of them in sub-Saharan Africa and 80% of them younger than 5. It makes 300 million...

"Producing a malaria vaccine has proved difficult because of the complicated life cycle of the mosquito-borne Plasmodium parasites that cause the disease. The cycle begins when infected mosquitos bite humans, injecting them with a form of the parasite called a sporozoite. The sporozoites invade the liver and begin reproducing in a new form called merozoites. Some merozoites can remain...

The company has already invested $300 million in the vaccine and expects to invest an additional $100...
