"You can’t really “screw up” anything with it. But it does need both the API key and the Application ID for all the bits to work. Most of them only need the API key, but the fan box (as you discovered) needs both. Same for Bookmarks and a couple others, so always put both in there."

One day, I will be President of Europe. As soon as I get rid of that damned Belgian guy: http://us.cnn.com/2009...
"Question for Ray: Ray, All of the arguments against evolution that you added to the introduction of this book have been discredited or plain disproven, some many times over. So why release this book in the first place? Why continue to use easily refutable arguments in furtherance of your goals? Indeed, what are your goals, exactly, and how does this book help further them?"

@photomatt Yeah, I thought that Azure story sounded way off the facts. What's the truth of the matter?
"If such a transaction is interpreted as a demand for oil, then the people doing the interpretation need tools that let them look deeper into the marketplace. Because if I was an investor, and I saw such a trade take place, and demand going up artificially like this, then it would make more sense for me to short it, because that "artificial demand" must come down at some point. In other words, the only reason demand rises is the lack of transparency in the trades, yes?"

"Yes, I can see how it would affect the market view, as long as the market had only a shallow view into the trades being performed. But the article specifically says "Not a drop of oil changed hands, but the balance sheets showed increased revenue." How?"

@sub_english I kinda like it, actually. Better than the RT nonsense which just makes tweets confusing.
Just did it and about 10% of my followers are spammers (although it marked some that are not, like FriendFeed's Aden)

Make sure to click "Not Spam" on those that are definitely not spammers. This whitelists them and the data is used as part of the calculation for others who use the service too.

@mainsthounddogs others just to get the follow back from them, to artificially increase their follower counts. I block ppl like this. (2/2)
"Nonsense.1. SSH is not something a normal jailbreaker would install these days. In the early days of jailbreaking, yes, you'd need SSH to get apps onto the thing. Nowadays, almost nobody bothers with it. blackra1n and the like install Cydia, which gives you access to loads of apps. SSH is entirely not required.2. Jailbreaking disables code signing enforcement, yes, but that isn't what makes the device "secure". That's what makes it "controlled" by Apple. That is all it really does. An exploit could feasibly exist in any application, signed or not, that would allow for remote arbitrary code execution. Apple is signing based on their terms of service and their own guidelines. They're not security auditing every single piece of code that is in an iPhone application. It's only a matter of time before somebody discovers and uses a vulnerability in an AppStore app, and then being jailbroken or not won't make any difference. The only difference will be whether you have the app in question or..."

"This article skips a step somewhere. How does a round-trip trade actually do anything? How do they show extra revenue on the balance sheet? If I sell X to somebody and they sell X back to me for the same price, then nothing really happened. Neither of us made anything or traded anything. So why is this reflected on the balance sheet anywhere at all?"

New York came up with a workaround. Since Amazon lets people be "affiliates", they passed a law that says if you have an affiliate in the state, then that constitutes a physical presence, which means Amazon must collect sales taxes on all sales to New Yorkers.Amazon responded by saying "fine, we won't have any affiliates in New York then" and cut them all off.New York said "hey, no fair, you didn't cave like everybody else did, time for angry legal action!!".That's the basic gist of it.
