"After accounting for socioeconomic differences, men aged over 60 from 140 countries that practice polygamy to varying degrees lived on average 12% longer than men from 49 mostly monogamous nations, says Virpi Lummaa, an ecologist at the University of Sheffield, UK."

Are you trying to say you converted to Mormonism? :-)

Look, it’s not your fault. It’s your shoes. Shoes are bad. I don’t just mean stiletto heels, or cowboy boots, or tottering espadrilles, or any of the other fairly obvious foot-torture devices into which we wincingly jam our feet. I mean all shoes. Shoes h

I saw someone walk by today wearing these shoes and I thought "What crazy shoes". Now I know what they are for!

Subtle? I'd say not! (But I actually disagree that not recycling will doom us all. The building I work in is built on top of a old garbage dump. No side effects except for a marginally better view.) Now the fat people on the other hand... I can totally believe that.

why do you think that not recycling will not doom us? are you saying that we'll just build on top of old garbage dumps? :)
- Biao
I think recycling is important (for instance it reduces air pollution and strip mines), but our earth won't ever be covered by trash. For instance, it says here that all the garbage produced by the US in the next century, if all put in one place, would only cover ~100 square miles. Have you ever driven to Las Vegas? Plenty of space no one wants to use. http://www.evolvingexcellence.com/blog...

that's an interesting fact. but i still feel guilty if i don't put the bottles in recycling. :| curse my morals.

Yes, but recycling bottles, paper, batteries, cans, glass, etc is good. It takes a lot of energy (e.g. pollution, strip mines, clear cutting forests) to make them. We're just not ever going to be buried in waste (unless the garbage men go on strike.) :)

Haha, this was the receiver I had my eye on (well the SR505 since I don't understand 7 speaker systems. Seems like very few audio sources support it.)
- Owen P
seems like most mid-range receivers are supporting 7.1 now. i'm leaning heavily towards the yamaha v663. i really don't want to be spending more than i am already. my projector screen arrived today! :)

Never mind, the SR505 supports 7 speakers. The SR505 costs $190 and the SR705 costs $500. I can't see any useful difference, but there must be something! I think you'll have the best A/V setup in your building soon. :)
