@Alris And they have mandatory sex-ed, don't they?
@strixus I meant more along their arguments concerning scripture and its stance on porn, and also that they say it isn't addictive.
@Baybdoli I agree. Who said "no MANDATORY government education" = "no education"? Not this guy.
@divinebubbles And THAT'S how it should be!
@divinebubbles I agree, and I've never argued for teaching ignorance.
@Totalbiscuit I'd prefer to conserve the freedom of the individual, in this case to parent, than to leave it to a mindless bureaucracy.
@Baybdoli Would love to see statistics for this.
@divinebubbles Which is why children should be encouraged to save themselves for marriage AND encouraged to use protection. Not either/or.
@Totalbiscuit I'm not arguing for "abstinence only". Never have. I'm arguing for "Parents have ultimate control over child's education".
@Totalbiscuit Government, like parents, can be, and often are, agenda driven. Since all men are flawed...
@Rovayn It's ok. the helm is... weird. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info...
@Baybdoli I disagree, I think most parents are capable of raising their kids. Government is the LAST place to look for a replacement.
@Baybdoli @Totalbiscuit ...and giving it to another for "their own good" is fundamentally wrong, imhop.
@Totalbiscuit @Baybdoli And that's just where we'll always differ. Taking one man's right or property--be it wealth or freedom--...
@Baybdoli I really doubt teenage pregnancy is due to sexual ignorance. Cavemen managed to master it.

@strixus Not enough. Some--the easy ones--are all fine and good. But others--like the porn episode--are poorly reasoned and dishonest.
@Totalbiscuit It's about keeping the government from micro-managing our lives, and allowing citizens more freedom with their own families.
@Totalbiscuit It is exactly this ideology that is scary: "We" cant trust parents to raise kids so "we" will raise them. Who is "we"? You?

Sex-ed to be mandatory for 15-year-olds, & if parents forbid, children punished, says school secretary, Ed Balls: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol... srsly
@Totalbiscuit When they feel their child is ready for it, not when the government decides the child is ready for it.

@Rovayn You rock!!!
@Totalbiscuit Anyway, I tweeted the story because I thought the secretary's name was... curious, considering the topic.

@Totalbiscuit The church has nothing to do with education--we have separation of church and state.
