For serious apps were you require an account, I'd say it is more strategic to control your own commerce. 1) no AppStore tax 2) When Apple builds iYourApp because you've proven it in the market, they don't *already* have your customer database, nor can they lock you our from releasing updates to compete with them. I wonder if this is another reason why Apple doesn't provide full APIs in Safari to all device features such as the camera, media playback, accelerometer, compass, etc."
