I worked on Win NT, debugging OLE. It was pretty bad because the NT OLE code was fine; all the bugs were in 16-bit OLE apps. There are few things worse than debugging interactions between two 16-bit apps you don't have the source to!

Yup, Redmond. I think I worked in building 4, which may not exist anymore, and lived across the street at "Timberlawn". I worked on the installer for "Plus Pack for Windows 95".

Eric, it gets worse: one of the first apps I had to look at was Ichitaro, Japan's #1 word processor at the time. It sure would have made things easier if I could have forced everybody to only use 32-bit English apps!

FriendFeed is dying for me. In fact. it's just about gone. I use it as a control room and discussion space for my Twitter feed, and a searchable archive. Discussion threads are down about 80 percent. "Likes" are off about 90 percent. There's no real time feed in from Twitter any more. Sad.

Agreed, Jay. My personal life is in a bit of an upheaval right now, which hasn't helped, but the FB acquisition took the wind out of the sails for me. It feels like there's no future, or worse, a future wired up to the "friending" criteria of my Facebook account. I use the services COMPLETELY differently, however. Inbound updates continue, since they're automatic, but this is the first comment I've posted in weeks. Sad, indeed.

Hi Paul, I know it has been a while since this post. But over the last 48 hours my Twitter updates have quit showing up in FF. I tried manually refreshing. Then I removed the account so I could just add it back in. When trying to do that I get the following message: "We could not find the given account" I haven't changed anything. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I haven't had any trouble until now. Thanks.

是。其实当初提出persona这个概念的时候，就是为了让设计团队更有empathy（感同身受）。在理性上不一定有统计数据的支持，但是在感性上能够感动设计团队，我觉得就基本上成功了。这种真实是基于和一个真切个体的面对面，而不是统计数据中泛泛的概括。

我在北京做调查也去过这种，这不是居民楼储藏室改的那种地下室，那种以前去北京我也住过，还挺舒适的。这种是深入地下十几米的，我们都觉得像防空洞多点。虽然看起来挺干净，但里面极其潮湿而且空气非常差。

昨天走在路上，突然一个SB窜出来用手拦着我，接着掏出一个类似警证的东西，之前我没见过警证，愣了一下，可是心里突然觉得有问题，就继续往前走，那个SB还过来拽我，我一下子把他手甩开，然后恶狠狠的瞪了他一眼，倒把他给吓住了，在那一动不动，我就确定他是假的了，于是继续走，后来回想起来是觉得有点不对，因为之前还没见过有警察自动亮警证的。PS：有人知道警证是什么样子的没？贴出来让大家看看，下回再遇到假的，直接干丫的

I like it, but I think it doesn't go far enough. The telephone allows you to communicate. But when you hang up the phone the call is gone. The internet has persistent objects that can be manipulated, so it is also about cooperation and collaboration.

Hmmm -- I think saying the" internet is not about technology, it's about the communication" is like saying driving is not about the car, it's about the journey. YAY, I love the internet. Couldn't agree more. GLOBAL unfettered communication amongst all peoples, socio-economic class, philosophy, etc. is what it's all about; whereas, the technology is there to support the communication layer. THAT is very important in the DESIGN of Information Systems.
