It's interesting how so many Americans (well, most Westerners anyway) are appalled by nursing at age 3 (like the kid in this picture) but in many, many other countries and cultures, still nursing at 3 is completely normal. - Rochelle

I've seen documentaries where women are still breastfeeding their 8 - 10yo's. I don't think it's gross or anything, but I would think that by that age some other form of bonding/attachment might be more appropriate/healthy. I wouldn't think anything of someone breastfeeding a 3yo, though. - Headless Gnad Kicker
