Guys, I'm having a big clear out on Twitter but want to make sure I'm following all my Friendfeed friends - could you please link to your twitter account in the comments below?
http://twitter.com/rahsheen - pretty positive there was a tool capable of doing this, but not sure if it still exists and can't remember what it was called...I think someone here developed it.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
What you can do is run this and then click all the Twitter links in the results. It's everyone you are following. It gives a big page of links to all their blogs and services: http://hiphs.com/ff/ffriends
- April Russo (app103)
April, I actually ran it, but it's still hanging, not as quickly as before but it only pulled 2800 of the users from Zee's public subscriptions. I really need to put more work into all of my Friendfeed backup tools. Note: I'm a retard, I'll dm you a list of your users FFriends and their subsequent Twitter accounts.

Whoopie...!! "Just in time for Christmas!!" Maybe this will make up for the last two "fails" Camcorder and Knocking Video?
- Ron Thompson
Hi Ron ... hope you enjoy it . nice I dont have to jailbreak to get it now ,,
- johnpiercy
Yes, John it looks like "The Wall" may be coming down @ Apple...? The last hurdle, ie. "brick in The Wall," to turn on tethering for non jailbroken phones...?
- Ron Thompson
Two more bricks I'd like to see smashed real soon are allowing app-switching (backgrounding) and theming :)
- Patrick Jordan
rogers our provider .. just extended our tethering ... it was supposed to end Dec 31 2009 ... now its May 31 2009 ....
- johnpiercy
I agree Patrick, the competition (read Google's Android) will force this ! The simple u.i. with multi page side scrolling is not very attractive or fast for launching(if you have several) apps. I played with my niece's new (Sprint) Samsung Moment and shake my head at the Apple iPhone. Things you need to hack an iPhone to do, come already part of the u.i. on her phone... My phone almost...

Looking back on another year, my second Xmas with the Double Fs, I have come to appreciate the power and complete kickassedness of a lot of you here. For me, putting aside one's personal spiritual persuasions, Xmas is about taking stock of the ones you know and the ones you hold dear. This year has been hard for a lot of us. Some of us have battle personal tragedy. Some of us have battled financial stresses. Some of us have battled illness or disease... some continue that battle and you are in our thoughts. The year kicked off in spectacular fashion with the birth of Audrey Moskovitz. I have enjoyed watching her grow and I have also enjoyed watching the growth of Akiva and Rochelle as they experience some of the things those of us with kids have experienced. I have forged strong friendships. I have built on existing ones. I have lost some as well. The fact that I have a wonderful friend in Mr Josh Haley is a true blessing and a gift that lasts longer than one day. He truly is the Yang...

Boxing Day? We're having fights again? AWESOME!

<eyeroll> Americans never understand us Britons and our traditions (I.e Boxing Day). I blame it on the tea party..... *snigger*

Ooooh, we get to have tea afterwards? I would like Darjeeling, please. With cream and sugar, please.

Shabbat? Is that like Shazam? Does that mean that we're gonna have a day when a small boy becomes the Mightest Mortal in the world? And he'll have adventures with his cute sister and little brother and team up to defeat Black Adam? AWESOME! What a great holiday!

BTstack Keyboard runs on jailbroken iPhone 3G(S) and all iPod touch devices with Bluetooth support. It is still unclear if it works properly on the iPhone 2G. It is available via the Cydia Store.

I didn't know they sold "hardware" too? Thanks! I haven't seen one of these since I bought and rarely used one on my old Compaq IPAQ PPC.
- Ron Thompson
Not sure if you were kidding Ron - but just in case, they don't. It's just a keyboard driver app, in fact a demo right now (that only works within the app itself).
- Patrick Jordan
I agree. And the themes have improved alot since I last jailbroke my iPhone.
- Fox
Great app and review!! You da man Patrick! ;o)
- Ron Thompson
Ha - thanks Ron. This one really is an outstanding app - one of those 'never give up your jailbreak' types :)
- Patrick Jordan
I'd like to note that ProSwitcher was a memory hog on my iPhone 3G. Not sure how it works on the 3GS but this app ate up a lot of memory. Previously I tried Multifl0w, didn't notice a memory issue with that so I might return to it. Haven't done so yet because I want to try out Kirikae first.
- Corvida
If you like these apps you should also check out Backgrounder, Orbit (Expose-ish) app, and SnowCover
- Corvida
This one relies on Backgrounder for enabling the background-running of apps. All the app switchers I've seen so far rely on Backgrounder for that part.
- Patrick Jordan
It seems more and more that the JB community has some great apps/ hacks for these devices... Slowly but surely some of these are making it into the Apple's sanctioned "app store" Video on 2G and 3G's...? What's next? "Backgrounder, ProSwitcher" Only time will tell? I hate to think 'the Android invasion" has anything to do with the sudden "openness" from the app store?
- Ron Thompson
Yup - I think for some time now - ever since back in 1.x firmware days really - a lot of innovation and improvements are driven by the great work of jailbreak devs. I guess this is far from shocking, since Apple ties things down so tight on the App Store side (though it's loosening a fair bit lately). Even something as simple as search within Contacts was done on the jailbreak side a good year before we ever got it within the 'legit' app.
- Patrick Jordan
This may be great but the picture looks laughable -- like a laptop with a dinky screen.
- Brian Sullivan
Ha - yeah does look a wee bit silly. I've never used a BT keyboard myself, but enjoy seeing jailbreak developers stretch out the boundaries of what the iPhone can do.
- Patrick Jordan
multi-colored definitely. and the old fat bulbs, not those tiny ones you can hardly see. that's what i grew up with - fat multi-colored bulbs.
- Christa
We always had multi-coloured on the Christmas tree, but my mother was adamantly against anything that blinked or twinkled or did anything cool, so that sort of fun was not to be had. Other small indoor trees we had were decorated mostly with all white bulbs, though.
- Katy S
I cant handle anything that twinkles. I like static lights. Christa, those bulbs were also what my aunt had while i was growing up. We were always afraid the tree would burn down because they got so hot!
- Mary Carmen
I have always liked colored lights. Betsy likes white...thus, we have a pre-lit white tree. UNTIL THIS YEAR, when Eliza broke the tie and we had to add colored lights. I win!
- Jason Griffey
outsiide, i love multi-colored (esp. against teh snow). inside, we have all white, but that's really just cuz they were on sale, and all my ornaments are silvery - so it makes for a very "classic" tree. note: i ain't never "classic".
- jambina
I like all white on the tree. and outside whatever coloured - this year I have all blue on the little shrub. last year it as multi-colour.
- Nathalie, Dreamer of FF
I'm all white on the tree and multi elsewhere at the moment, but I'm not locked into any particular look.
- Michael W. May
Mary - I don't necessarily want them now, but as a kid I did because we were forbidden to have them. One year we colluded with my dad to get a set of lights for the tree that had 8 modes of action. We didn't tell my mom. When she wasn't looking we'd always switch it from no movement to one of the waves or flickers. She was a bit annoyed with us that year. The only thing that saved us was the fact that it had that one option she likes.
- Katy S
Katy, that is hilarious. My mom would never allow that. I can handle slow twinkling, but omg, some of the settings nowadays are like TECHNO.
- Mary Carmen
umm... at work white or blue to match the circ desk. at home i think multi? i don't remember.
- Kendra <3 Three Lions
She also doesn't like it when my dad and I play the Tales From The Crypt album Have Yourself A Scary Little Christmas. We tend to crank up Deck The Halls With Parts Of Charlie in honor of my dad's older brother, Charlie. We are not allowed to play it in her presence, so when I'm at their house and she leaves, my dad and I turn it on right away.
- Katy S
He use to be a mortician. Morbid humor is always acceptable. :) Actually, some of the funniest people I've ever met have been funeral directors. True!

I prefer multi-colored, or a string of a single color. No whites-only strings for me.
- John (a.k.a. dendroica)
multicolored on the tree and white outside
- Abigail
On my balcony I have multi-colored, but at the twist of a dial they can be changed from all white to multi-colored or transitioning back and forth (also steady or blinking.) Alas, my apartment complex has several of those humongous inflatable Santas, snowmen, etc. so there is no hope for nuanced Holiday decoration around here.
- Mark "DerBingle" J
black (looking at them though, you can see the red filament, does that make them multi?)
- chaz2b
We always had multi-lights, but I've grown to love all white (or blue). I think they are so elegant, and more natural, which I love. I can't stand "moving" and flashing lights. If I wanted a migraine or a seizure I would find another way to get one thanks. LED ftw!!! <3
- Heather
I have a single strand of multi-colored randomly flashing (literally - the whole string does not flash together) lights on my tree. They were on our tree when i was growing up, but one year my mom declared that we would have white lights only. My MIL is apparently * adamant* about white lights only. I love th C9 bulbs for putting on my house :)
- ~Courtney F.
I recently bought multi-colored lights for my swingin' bachelor pad. It didn't even occur to me to buy all-white. I like lots of color. If I wanted all white, I'd move to a small town in Kansas. http://instantrimshot.com/
- josh neff, geek at large
We have multicolored LED lights and some awesome purple lights that I can't use now because I can't find replacements for the broken bulbs. White on the fake tree, they are built in.
- Eric @ CSTechcast.com

We have multi on the outside bushes, white on the garland hanging at the top of our bookshelves, & red on the (devil) tree

Colorful lights that move in various different patterns. With all the cool stuff you can do with cheap technology these days, why not?
- Dave Roth
We have all white lights this year, but in the years past we've had a combination of red & white.
- tab thinks you're awesome
Multicolored!!! All white are to light silk tents for weddings and our sorority house for Secret Shindigs.
- Archangel ωαřмaiden
Both. And all-blue, all-purple, etc. I use lights year round in lots of ways now though, they were always my fave thing about Christmas. I made flower lights for my room, those are white: http://pics.livejournal.com/lostlo...
- Lo
its easy I have two little trees that belonged to my parents..........one is in multi and one in white.....so no fights here...........:)....bit growing up it was always multi on the tree
- VAL D. Zone
our tree is strung with all red lights, and i'm a little concerned it might look kind of brothel-ish, but we temper it with white-light strung garland around the windows and doors. i love our house decorated for christmas!
- Nancy Sp♠id
on the tree, all white. no blinky. outside - colors, blinky, whatever you can find. inflatable santa on a motorcycle, whatever.
- Morgan Haley
multicolored outside, white on tree inside, but i like to mix it up. i would alternate on the tree, but it's prelit.

"NBC has turned to House M.D Seasons 1-5 DVD Boxset creator David Shore to develop a remake of the 1970s drama The Rockford Files. The original series — which starred James Garner as Jim Rockford, an ex-convict private eye who worked cases out of his trailer in Malibu — ran for six years and put writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell on the map. Garner's performance also earned him an Emmy. Shore, a fan of the original, understands the resistance to remakes. "I had no interest in adapting any old stuff, but this was the one exception," he told Variety. "It's one of the shows that made me want to become a writer." The idea for the remake came from Carousel Television, Steve Carell's production company, which inquired about the rights to the Universal TV property. Since House M.D Seasons 1-5 DVD Boxset is also produced by Universal, executives felt Shore was the man for the job. Shore said he's not sure how they will modernize the series, but the basic premise and character will be the...

All I ask is that they not make Rockford a 23 year old guy and not cast a former underwear model to play him. Rockford should be mid to late 40's or nothing at all.
- Noah Belson
This is one of those shows that makes me think, "Wow. What a difference cell phones make." Noah, I agree about the age thing.
- Kendra <3 Three Lions
Yeah I'm actually going to miss seeing Rockford pull off somewhere to drop a dime into a payphone, I always enjoy that. For that matter, I hope they don't make him too computer savvy and have him knowing how to hack into DMV files to get info, etc. On the other hand i REALLY hope they don't give him a 21 year old sidekick who automatically knows how to do all those things. Do I sound old and complainy enough?
- Noah Belson
i am looking up Bruce Campbell... (Andrew C, good question.)
- edythe
5 years ago I'd never have said that Hugh Laurie could ever be cast as the lead on an hour long show, but the House program would have proved me wrong. Clearly the guy behind that show would rather put the right person in the role, rather than the most bankable. Which is nice, actually. Anyone else would cast Ashton Kutcher as Rockford and then wait for the checks to roll in.
- Noah Belson

Knocking Video put me over the edge... I wanted video recording/ messaging on my 3G and jailbreaking is/ was the only option(Cycorder, Qik...) That, tethering, customizing....? If you like to "tinker" it makes the iPhone a much more intriguing!
- Ron Thompson
Not tinkering, I am enjoying 7 dollar full internet access, and better coverage than at&t thank you tmobile.
- Gregory
Yes. For app switching, backgrounding, and things like running 170 apps with just one home screen.
- Patrick Jordan
I actually hide all but 5 icons for the most used programs(on bottom row/ dock) and use Searchlight to launch any of the rest... Page left for Searchlight, and back right to Home Screen. Simple and a lot less clutter to hide/ cover up custom backgrounds.
- Ron Thompson
Nice Ron. I use the PogoPlank springboard replacement app -with the wheel and placement of apps into folders - and also allows for really enjoying the full effect of your background and theme choices. :)
- Patrick Jordan
Yes, Patrick... I've been missing out, I s/h Jailbroken a long time ago... With the so so cell service I currently get... an unlock and switch to TMobile could be next? Funny when you think about it... the whole Categories/ folders idea is not new? Pocket PC's and Windows Mobiles have used that type of sorting system for years... Having had both, this system makes more sense to me vs the multiple "Home" pages...
- Ron Thompson
yup, Jailbroken and my reception even improved
- sofarsoShawn
I need to figure out why I'm paying T-Mobile almost 3x as much for my TiPhone's Internet access.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Since I canceled AT&T, yes. It now acts like an iPod Touch
- Rodfather
Yep, and if you find you don't like it, you can always restore it back to it's limited un-jailbroken form. Here's what mine looks like, although I've been thinking about trying something else. http://ff.im/aAwJ8
- Michael Fidler
@ Ron - yup, that is one of the areas where Windows Mobile got some things right - although mostly via clever 3rd party UI enhancers rather than any default WinMo scheme. I think the home pages idea works up to about 5 home screens. Beyond that, it becomes pretty tiresome and ineffective. I usually run with 9-11 screens worth of apps - and for that level things like PogoPlank are a much better option IMO.

Here's why 2010 will be the year of the Tablet computer. Who cares about Sports Illustrated, but the concept of having a digital magazine is extremely appealing. I would gladly pay a subscription fee for my favorite weekly/monthly/etc magazines delivered in this format.
- Chrimmus Tad
from fftogo
I love Sports Illustrated, and its iPhone app is fairly well done so I agree that the format has nice potential.
- Patrick Jordan
This is only worthwhile if the magazines contain original, well researched, quality journalism. This will help differentiate these things from (most) web blogs. Especially in niche markets that aren't awesomely supported by the blogosphere.
- Chrimmus Tad
from fftogo
Also - the subscription had better cost less than the meatspace content - especially if it's as full of ads as the meatspace versions are.
- Chrimmus Tad
from fftogo
I will gladly resume mag subscriptions once a viable digital option is available, b/c print subscriptions have a pretty large environmental impact. I watched the TechCrunch interview/demo with the Time Inc. Mag Tablet app. It seems a little clumsy right now.

SI fits the bill for original, well researched, quality etc. Mcsweeneys are producing regular good and original fiction content for the iPhone now. Steampunk Tales is another good offering in this area.

It works in tandem with Backgrounder to provide a much slicker, faster way to switch between running apps than any other I've seen for the iPhone. I did a post with details on how effective it is to use and lots of screenies here: http://justanotheriphoneblog.com/wordpre...
- Patrick Jordan
Interesting. My approach is to keep the icons for apps that I often multitask on the first homepage screen. Then to flip, it's two taps: home followed by icon. Would like to try this, but I'd much prefer a trial and Cydia distribution.
- Ian Fogg
from iPhone
It's in Cydia now, but with no trial there that I could see. In the Rock store there was (hopefully still is) a trial available.
- Patrick Jordan
As for approach, I've used Kirikae and mQuickDo for app switching as well as this one. This one can't co-exist with Kirikae right now because they both use double-tap of home button to launch, but mQucikDo is happily co-existing. The swiping between images of running apps feels much more comfortable and fast to me.
