WOW that's gross. And it takes a lot to gross me out. Good thing I haven't eaten yet. Especially good thing I wasn't eating my favorite spaghetti just now... And according to Timothy's article, once again, the internet was ahead of traditional media. io9 even beat out the local bloggers, and easily beat the local news, which was probably preoccupied with fires, crashes, and shootings (and kittens!) as usual.

That's what I'm saying. I don't get grossed out by many things. I may pretend for comedic effect, but this really has my skin crawling. I need a drink...oh...wait...*brrdddrrr* I just threw up a little...

Looks like they used something that shrinks inward and therefore moves when exposed to heat (something attached to the camera or the light itself). Nothing to make think they were alive.

I think it's actually a real organism. Obviously, the close camera angle makes it look huge, but the article above says it's smaller than a tennis ball. It still looks like it would love to jump off that wall and suck your brain out through your eye socket, though...

I think they are tubifex worms, and they're really small. They just react en masse to things. There are some microbes and small animals like these that do that.
