Here's a photo hint, since nobody got the "We may be the youngest people here" clue. re: http://friendfeed.com/paul...

Wow, is that a keytar? - Mark Trapp
The Bridges of Madison County? - Matthew DeVries
Yeah, when I saw the keytar, I knew I better get out the camera! - Paul Buchheit
Oh hell, it's Asia, I recognized Steve Howe's head... - Aron Michalski
And to prove my muso geekiness, that's got to be the smallest drum set Carl Palmer has ever used. Downsizing indeed. - Aron Michalski
It's interesting to contrast that pic with his wikipedia photo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - Paul Buchheit
Yeah but that Gibson is a lot easier to work on than that Rickenbacker on the wiki page... - Aron Michalski
aron getting very roady meta now...lol - Mark Forman
I got nothing else, brother... - Aron Michalski
now that's a lie...or just humility :) - Mark Forman
It was actually a Yes concert ("featuring special guest Asia") at Mountain Winery. I included the Asia pic because of the keytar :). Steve Howe played in both bands though. He looks very old, but seemed like the best musician of the bunch. The lead singer for Yes was actually from a Yes cover band, amusingly enough (apparently Jon Anderson is sick). - Paul Buchheit
how was the show? - bob
I actually worked for Yes on the road for a year and did find Steve to be the most consistent player. - Aron Michalski
did they play big generator? - bob
No, though they did play "Owner of a lonely heart" :). It wasn't a super-long concert -- I guess everyone needed to get home before bedtime... - Paul Buchheit
And Matlock comes on at 8pm. *ducks* - Mark Trapp
Love both bands very much. I'm jealous. - Josh Haley from iPhone
thats too bad, im listening to it right now :P - bob
So I got it right somewhat that it was a niche music event. - Ashish
How many times did the drummer hit the gongs? I think that generally drummers don't start using gongs until they get some roadies. - Robert Felty
This thread makes me wonder, Paul, why can't we hide a thread we've commented in? So it doesn't keep popping up in our notifiers/IM's once we've stopped being interested? - Matthew DeVries
Robert: I wish you were right about that. My son is a drummer. We have three gongs of varying sizes in the house. Along with a Tibetan singing bowl, a bohdran, and many assorted goodies. We are 1500 sq. ft of drum/perc collection where people also live. - Karoli
Matthew I hide them all the time after commenting. - Karoli
Yeah, but that doesn't kill it from your notifiers Karoli. The only way to do that is to delete your comments and then hide it. - Matthew DeVries
not sure about IM, but my popup notifier stops after i hide it. - Karoli
Mine keeps popping like jiffy pop - Matthew DeVries
Karoli - Does your son play gigs? I am also a drummer, and own quite a bit of drums and cymbals and toys, but no gongs. I would have to be use a gong quite a bit to want to schlep it around, even if I did have one at home. Why do you lose interest in a post as soon as you have commented? Do you do that in real life conversations too? - Robert Felty
