Paul, you should try and make your own yogurt -- it's not supposed to be sour. You need a spoon or two of yogurt to inoculate bacterials in fresh milk and keep it at 38C for 8 hours (more than that and it gets too much sour). I made my own yogurt maker with an Arduino (plus relay and temp sensor), a 40W lightbulb and a temporary box made out of some polystyrene I had at home. Don't spend money on commercial yogurt makers, they simply suck (no control of the temperature whatsoever) - alieb

Straus is sooo great. I'd love to tour their dairy farm. They used to carry it at Trader Joe's and I would get it there all the time. Now we get Mountain High from Costco which is good but not as good as Straus. My kid has plain yogurt and berries for breakfast every day (frozen berries most of the year). - Laura Norvig
