This is an inverted/distributed Facebook. Instead of having your Facebook apps and Facebook friends nicely contained inside the Facebook community, you have your Google contacts, iGoogle and a bunch of other Google services in a sort of federated social net. Granted it is still within the broader Google ecosystem but Google is slowly shaping up to be some serious competition for Facebook ... very slowly. - Paul Jacobson
