"Lobbying should be outlawed. That's one "regulation" I'd be for. Political Parties also should be abolished. Both of these things nullify "representative" government, and so they should be unconstitutional. Look at them buying Landrieu's vote yesterday for $300 million. Or taking away Blanche Lincoln's, senator from my state, Agriculture Chair, if she doesn't vote the way they want. That's not representative democracy. That's bullying, mafia like, racketeering like tactics. They sell us the idea of freedom, but don't practice it."

Thanks Paul. I'm glad there are others out there who share this opinion. I hope we can do something to change it.
- Stephen Pickering
Man I have felt that way for a long time and thought I was the only one. The two parties have galvanized the country so bad that you cannot get anyone worth voting for. Great post!
- Paul L. McCord Jr.
Right, plus the idea of "party" is that you put the desires of the party above your own conscience or the will of your constituency. That's not representative government. To me the idea of "party" reminds me of the Communist or Nazi "Party" It just reeks of totalitarianism, and in practice, even in our system, that's partially what we are getting, when they either bribe or threaten the representative, if they don't vote a certain way. I hope there are others like us.

This happened to me, but the Taxi company held it hostage until we negotiated a price. This escalated, police were called. They were shocked with the details and said it was extortion.

Will - don't worry, FF isn't dead.... Paul just said FF is a butterfly or something... or a cocoon.. or a burrito... i don't remember. But we're all not supposed to worry about it

I have 94 left. I dont see why they still have invites when any person wanting email can come and sign up straightaway. And even if there is a rational justification for issuing invites, why restrict its number?
- TrafficBug
@TrafficBug - I suspect the answer to both questions is that it'd be more effort to take the invites away than to just leave them there. (Though invites are also useful to get your customers to advertise for you. Peer pressure FTW!)

Do U have any Google WAVE or Google VOICE invites??
- Billy Warhol
I have 98 - I thought I would win, but how does Penguin have 341?! I didn't think they went above 100.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Sorry, Billy, on Gmail invites. STEP RIGHT UP, PEOPLE.
- Derrick
Would you like to trade for another Gmail invite? I have some to spare too
- Tamara
Kind of scary but then I am sure it was not that difficult to get it fixed. Sort of hard to get away with something like that :)

My husband owns an electricity company dealing with both Residential and Commercial clients. I can tell you this was a huge mistake! Someone really dropped the ball on this one! At least they were swift in fixing their error but what a hassle for Shelly and her employer.
