"We now have further confirmation that Microsoft is giving up on its Silverlight rich Internet application platform. Bob Muglia, Microsoft’s president in charge of server and tools, told ZDNet that the company is “shifting away” from Silverlight as a cross-platform development framework, and pushing the HTML5 web standard instead."

That's an inaccurate headline. HTML5 will be MS' main push for WP7 because it's cross-platform (so anything built using HTML5 for other platforms will be easily usable on WP7). Silverlight will continue on the Xbox 360, Netflix, etc.

"Uh oh... it's coming. It can't be, nobody faster than me!" Jay Garrick a.k.a The Flash ~ @LANjackal will this quote accurate enough to be a headline ;)

is it really that bad? if so, i need to reconsider my plan to eventually steal a copy off the internet....damn, that's pretty bad...

Morgan, I liked it enough. But I think I'm gonna have to follow this lady on Twitter, cause she's up to her eyeballs in funny.

is it worth 11.50? dammit! I wanted this movie to be at least good enough that I don't start laughing while watching it...dammit, dammit! That's it! Me and what's his face are so done professsionally....you know, the snapperhead that plays the lead....what's his name again?
- Morgan
I did a 6.50 matinee at the Vista in Silverlake.

I like having each service as an individual contact. Much easier. Can we see the same for Pownce?

Well, IMified has taken bot to a next level.. I even created a customized option to check my google calendar appointments for today (a quick schedule for today) by interacting with bot! Not sure, if they have one for Pownce..

I buy my pork related products from sources that aren't horrible. If you buy your meat from Whole Foods, you'll pay more but get much higher quality meat that's nothing like the company profiled. Yes, much of the pork industry is disgusting.
- iTad
Nick, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!
- Anna Haro
I'm not a vegetarian now, but when I lived in rural Missouri I was. Whole Foods cannot be found on every street corner, and not everyone can afford it anyway. What's really sad is that if you're poor in the midwest you're probably eating pork and therefore contributing to massive pig-shit lagoons that are extremely dangerous to your own safety. Vegetarianism is a nutritious and affordable habit we could all learn something from.

i'm hitting the LIKE button very reluctantly. in this case it should be called "DO NOT FORGET"

Luter, the owner of Smithfield, wants to expand in Europe, particularly in Poland and Romania. The bastard! After having killed millions of fish, made countless people sick here in the US, and ruined rivers and watersheds in North Carolina for everybody, now wants to do the same in Europe. And smarmy politicians here in the States have done nothing to stop him -- after getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from him, that is. People like this are the real terrorists.

Whoa! this entire article is GROOOOOOOOOSSSSSSS!!! wow. this is ungodly farming folks. this Pig Farming CEO dude's is sick in the head from all those fumes! Vegetarianism has for a long time been proven to be good for you and the environment...this should be on the front page news, but it's not.

Thanks sincerely for the reminder...

hmmmm... not good for Bacon, but breakfast is still for winners.

It's why I don't eat meat, thanks for this post. Reblogging.

My pork does not come from these sorts of places. However, I will never buy Smithfield again even in an emergency pinch situation. Thanks for the link.

I don't eat much meat at home, but this is certainly going to make me rethink that order of bacon and eggs at a diner.

I just emailed Paula Dean the link to this RS article. I am sure she will never see it, but I am sick of her Smithfield commercials on FoodTV.

That might be obvious but people with a lower IQ are also citizens of the democracy. This indicates to me that people with a lower IQ are simply concerned with different issues than those with higher IQs. It doesn't mean their vote is any less important.
- ·[▪_▪]·
I'd argue that it's because weaker minds (read: those who don't have critical thinking skills) are more easily swayed.
- Ⓒⓗⓡⓘⓢ Ⓟⓘⓡⓘⓛⓛⓞ
"Stronger" minds are easily influenced too. You just don't appeal to their beliefs but to their ego.

Indeed, the smart comment is no comment :)

Leave it to the smarter people in the country who can think for themselves to vote for the right person.
- Mathew™ aka Youngblood
Stupid! If this were median IQ one might draw a statistically significant correlation between IQ and vote cast. Makes me wonder about the IQ of those that pass this stuff along.
- Ryan Petty
this is the same thing from 2004, they just changed the names, it's still silly.
- Anika
Republicans used to be the party of the upper class, but money = intelligence so we can no longer give Republicans the upper class. Certainly the lower and middle classes belong to Democrats. So what does that leave Republicans? Oh, okay, still no comment :)
- Mike Reynolds
Are they actually trying to say that the average IQ of most of the states is BELOW average? I wonder what percentage of people actually get IQ tests, anyway. My theory is it happens when people are looking for problems, like for those with learning disabilities or who are suspected of having ADHD.
- MiniMage, enterRUPPted
Do you really think this helps your cause? In all actuality, it makes you look like a complete fool. "IQ and the wealth of nations" contains no IQ information for the US States. When you do find "average IQ" numbers for US states, they aren't anything like the numbers in this chart. You are makeing a good case for a negative correlation between IQ and the electrion results when you and others push these fraudulent charts.

Thanks for the article @msblog. I quote: "And so, politically, the G.O.P. is squeezed at both ends. The party is losing the working class by sins of omission — because it has not developed policies to address economic anxiety. It has lost the educated class by sins of commission — by telling members of that class to go away."
- Mike Reynolds
@Bjorn I can understand feeling the notion of the IQ test and score might be contentious for theoretical reasons, but why racist? And why a myth? I mean, IQ tests exist, people exist, smart people and dumb people exist, and often there is a strong correlation between smart people and high IQs, dumb people and low IQs...which part is mythical?
- Neal "thePuck" Jansons
But then Obama got elected by people who had the cultural bias in IQ tests the other way.

My Sunday morning comment: "still no comment"
- Mike Reynolds
The other thing is that they don't yet have a seat on the bus, so to speak, so aren't protecting access they already have. McCain's "punishment" of CNN might actually work big time against him.
- Robert Scoble
it could backfire big time though. first they will have to get "tough" on Obama to PROVE their are balanced. also when panic sets in his opponents will resort to lying if that is what it takes to start a new news cycle. I don't like pushing Karl Rovites into a corner.
- R. Ferguson
"He kept trying to change the subject to Obama.... It's a very typical Republican tactic." That's false, it's a political tactic used by both sides to say that if you answer the question directly, then you accept the premise of the question. I want straight answers from both sides.
- Chris Mayer
I'm glad to see the main stream press ask the tough questions and stick to their guns when they don't get strait answers. It goes both ways though and should be equally applied to all parties and points of view. I'm so tired of politicians trying to BS their way out of an answer to a valid question. I hope this trend continues.
- Jeff P. Henderson
A change? Hardly. Let's e honest - the larger media groups have been shilling fairly hard for Obama all along until bloggers pushed them into it. The recent US weekly covers on Michelle Obama and Palin are good examples... the owner is openly pro-Obama and using his media tool to push that agenda. I am all for the media getting tough - for every reporter digging up dirt on her 17 year old daughter it would be nice to have one looking into Obama, Bill Ayers and the Annenberg story huh?
- Soulhuntre
I have to agree with Sean, the mediaObamas stint as a completely ignores Obama's utter lack of experience, and then try to paint Sarah Palin as inexperienced? Please! She's been the governor of the largest state in the U.S. with more coastline than all of the rest of the continental U.S. and with more exposure to more international enemies, like Russia, Korea and China than any other region of the country. Palin's leadership experience definitely trumps the short stint of Chicago politician Obama.

@Sean - My response was directed towards Scoble. I assume he posted that article because it asserts that republicans are the only ones who use that tactic.

I just went back to watch DK again ... this time with Bryan, Haley, Bryan's friend Jesus and Sonja. I ended up having to leave half way through with Haley b/c the Joker's antics were a bit too much for her. Great movie, tho. Wish I could have stayed.

On another note, wouldn't it be badass to be doing conceptual art for flicks like this? plusplusgood.
- Clay Newton
Clay, it would be very badasssssssssss

I really want to see The Dark Knight but rarely get myself in gear to get to the cinema. I've only just seen Iron Man, and even then only because it was being shown on the plane I was on yesterday!
