I'm thinking about going to Toshi's in Beaverton for some ramen for dinner http://maps.google.com/maps... Who's with me?
Ramen is always good - EARL (Born in the USA)
*sigh* I have yet to have real ramen in a restaurant. Just last weekend I told the hubby we need to find a ramen restaurant and go there... - Cheryl Jones
Yes you do...and now I'm off to Toshi's. - Alex Scoble
Toshi's is good stuff if you don't mind the slow service. They are always understaffed. Two waitpersons doesn't cut it for them apparently. I'd say it's worth the slow service, but your mileage may vary. - Alex Scoble
Worth it for ramen at least...their sushi isn't the best. If you want sushi, go to Tokyo, which is just a bit north on 185th. - Alex Scoble

What is it about Oregonians that makes them lose their minds when driving in parking lots?
Too independent. It's all those lines, man. They're keeping you from being FREE. - Jennifer Dittrich
Not sure - but might be same thing that afflicts Texans in massive rainstorms, while in command of ginormous pickups and SUVs :) - Patrick Jordan

Hey Portlanders, what is up with this place? http://voodoodoughnut.com/
love how 1 store only open 21 hours a day...saw them on No reservations with Anthony Bourdain - Mark Forman
They're near this apartment I'm looking at. It was like walking into a Twilight Zone episode. The chairs are school desks, there's tributes to Kenny Rogers everywhere, the donuts have cereal as toppings, and the music is like the worst music imaginable. Also, it's painted magenta. - Mark Trapp
What do you think they do for those three hours they aren't open? - Michelle Marie Miller
I'm not sure I want to know. Maybe that's when Kenny Rogers and Isaac Hayes come to sprinkle their magic donut magic in the holes. - Mark Trapp
Hey a lot of thought went into making those holes... - Mark Forman
Its donut-shaped awesome. - Morgan Collins

I wish Dave and Buster's would open up a location in the Portland metro area
I think his name is just Buster. - Matthew DeVries
http://www.daveandbusters.com/ Sorry, I forgot the apostrophe, Matthew, ya anal dude you. - Alex Scoble
LOL, Actually, you're inviting the actual dudes Dave and Buster, so no "S" at all - Matthew DeVries
No, Dave and Buster's is a place and a brand...I was referring to the brand name. I wish that Dave and Buster's would open up a Dave and Buster's in the PDX area. - Alex Scoble from IM
Matthew, actually Alex is inviting Dave and some unidentified item belonging to Buster. - John E. Bredehoft
ROFL - Alex Scoble
The basketball shooting gsme is addicting - Rodfather
I <3 that place - Shevonne
There's a bench warrant for Dave in Portland though - is it cool if just Buster opens up something for ya? - Matthew DeVries
Buster will have problems opening up a restaurant with his name. There is the BBQ joint chain already. - Joe Pierce
He'll just bring the "and" with him too - Matthew DeVries
He'll need a new partner..how about Alex and Buster's? - Joe Pierce
Dude, that would be awesome! - Alex Scoble from IM
We've got one in Indy. Guess we ought to check it out... - Kamilah Gill
Yeah, Kamilah, it's like a big arcade for grownups. - Alex Scoble
Alex Scoble
Darn, I wanted to go see Moon tomorrow, but it's not playing anywhere around here.
ROFL! My head just exploded with the possible retorts to that, Anika! - Alex Scoble from IM
Sorry, I had to delete it. I was trying to be funny and left out a few words. LMAO I couldn't even fix it because I realized I had no idea what I was even trying to say after that. - Anika Malone
ROFL - Alex Scoble
I want to see it too - Jade Tinnerman

What the heck is up with Portland's mayor Sam Addams? Now he's embroiled in a scandal because he didn't make payments on his house on time...and this is the guy who's running Portland? WTF. Is there a lemon law for politicians? If not, this guy shows that there ought to be.
YOU DON'T GET A PASS BECAUSE WE'RE BOTH QUEER, SAM. YOU'RE NOT A VERY NICE MAN. - Derrick
No lemon law for politicians. Look at our last president, Nixon, Grant, and... oh jeez, never mind. I could be at this all night. :) - Dan Messer
Well there oughta be, Dan...and yeah, Derrick...He's going to make it that much harder for other gay politicians to succeed in getting elected to major offices. Not cool...A complete lamer. - Alex Scoble
If he wasn't gay, he would have been thrown out of office over that affair with a young intern thing. It's just like with Obama...can't have any real recriminations because he's the first openly gay mayor of a major city. - Dawn
@Dawn - yeah, just like Obama. *groan* - Anthony Citrano
The last thing I want is Sam Adams gone from City Hall. He's too entwined in how we get things done in this city. I never liked Vera but he spent 12 years in her administration and he knows which way the wind blows. If we end up with someone diametrical opposed to the culture that has been nurtured in that office, I'm afraid we'll lose our way and squander what we've developed over that... more... - Christopher Harley
No wonder the people who would really do the best job in government stay out of politics - they don't want their personal lives to be subject to this level of scrutiny and righteous indignation. The more you expect your elected representatives to be flawless, the more you are going to be disappointed by the fact that they're not. - Chris
I'm not shooting for flawless, I'm shooting for merely responsible and dependable. - Alex Scoble from IM
What Chris said. - Anthony Citrano

Before and after pics of the front lawn...3 pics before I mowed and 3 similar pics from after...crazy how much the grass grows in two weeks.

Mine grows like mad in one week. Not that high though. - CW™
I'm impressed Alex - Looks like at least one geek got a workout today!! :) - JimsMarketingBlog
Which is before and which is after? o_O (j/k ;) - Jemm
Looks like you have a fescue, which means it's actually best kept at about 3 inches and not mowed as frequently as other types. Less mowing = win. - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
yeah i keep mine at 4". do we have a lawn and garden room? - Carlos Ayala
Is that the entire yard? Looks like just the right size to maximize the enjoyment of cutting the grass without it being a chore. At my last house, we had a yard with grass, but it was too small to maneuver the lawnmower around well, and it was more of a chore than enjoyment. - Andy Bakun
That's the entire front yard just about, Andy. Back yard is about the same size. - Alex Scoble
If I didn't mow mine each week I would grow a jungle. - Bob Blunk
Nice to watch the grass grow! - Jane C Woods
I have no grass. Area around house is all groundcover stuff, some ornamental grass and mulch. I miss walking with bare feet over freshly cut lawn but not enough to plant some. I had to do all inside and outside work at old house and I hated mowing. - jlt-Janet
dude....cmon......3 weeks between mowing? my dad used to make me mow the lawn every 2 hours..... - Chris Greene
lazy f%$! - Chris Greene
sorry, two weeks. you're still a lazy f%# because i happen to know that this weekend you were inside the house playing video games like a dink. - Chris Greene
Says the guy who lives in a condo. - Alex Scoble
a condo with a very very very clean porch - Chris Greene
Yeah, said porch is about the size of a postage stamp. - Alex Scoble
What kind of grass is that? - Brent - Mugwumps R Us
No offense but I hate you all, i think our grass has grown 4 inches in 6 years. The weeds on the other hand, 4inches an hour - Steve C
Brent, according to Tina, it's a fescue. - Alex Scoble
Where I live fescue last for about 2 weeks - too hot for it or too cold. - Brent - Mugwumps R Us

Watched Up in 3D at the Regal Bridgeport theaters in Tigard
**Note** There is no easter egg after the credits...Great movie though...we both got verklempt in spots...Squirrel!! - Alex Scoble from email
There is an Apple beach ball in the credits though i read somehere. Did you see it? - Simon Wicks
I hope to see it tomorrow. - CW™
We saw it again tonight. Did you get the short feature Partly Cloudy before it? We did tonight, but last week when we saw it the first time, there was no short feature. - Joey Gibson
Alex, is the 3D version worth it? Is it any different? I have never watched a 3D movie and I'm skeptical. - Manuel Mas
Yeah, Joey, we saw Partly Cloudy...cute short. The 3D technology is very good, is it worth it? It adds a coolness factor, but I'm not sure it's worth 40-50% extra per ticket. - Alex Scoble
If they show the short in the non-3D version, I'd say it's not worth really it. It wasn't as cool as the 3-D in Coraline. - Alix Whitmire ☂
Alix, everything was in 3D, even the previews. - Alex Scoble
No, I know. :) Joey said he didn't see the short the first time, I thought maybe they weren't showing the short at the non-3-D shows. The short, IMO, is worth the 3-D ticket price, but the 3-D itself was not. :D - Alix Whitmire ☂
We saw it in 3D both times, at the same theater, but the first time we didn't get the short. We *did* get the Toy Story 3 trailer the first time and not the second, but since that's available online, I would rather have had the short. Seems like by not showing it in all theaters, they're ripping some people off. - Joey Gibson
Joey, that's awful. I always really look forward to the shorts, and this one was especially awesome. - Alix Whitmire ☂
I agree, Joey...I'm clueless as to why they would show the short only during some showings and in some theaters. It should be shown at all showings and in all theaters. - Alex Scoble
Alex Scoble
Mowing the fields err I mean the lawns. They get so long right now in two weeks...kind of ridiculous. At least they are nice and green.
Glad to see you, Alex - Brent - Mugwumps R Us
must be all that extra CO2 in the air. ;) - Robert Hafer
Miss mowing the lawn. Only get to do that in the summer. No lawn the rest of the year. - Jack Frizzell

Bought some wine at The Wine Cellar in Portland on Cornell today. The owner, Erin, is a hoot and makes it a lively place. We went there because she bought too much of some wines and was having an "oopsy" sale. http://www.badgirlwines.com/

Hmm, looks like no fellow PDXers are using this room on a regular basis? We need to step it up a notch!
Kathleen McDade
Hello! - Alex Scoble
Kathleen McDade
I don't get how this group thing works. We have to post directly to the group to appear in the group feed? Seems to me the group feed should be a feed of the members' activity.
You can post directly to the group AND to your "My Feed" at the same time, Kathleen. Then whether someone sees it on your feed or the group feed and comments in either place those comments show up in both places. It's very cool. - Alex Scoble

Ate a buttermilk bar from Sesame Doughnuts near HWY 10 and Scholls Ferry tonight and it was delicious! For those not in to making the trek downtown to Voodoo Doughnuts, this place is pretty darn tasty and also open 24 hours.
Alex Scoble
What up fellow PDXers? Having a good 3 day weekend?
Yes and no. I do wish tomorrow wasn't approaching so quickly. - Dawn
Right there with you on that, Dawn. - Alex Scoble
The weather sure has been lovely! - Dawn
Excuse my ignorance but PDXers? - Johnny Worthington
Heh, Johnny. PDX is the airport designation for the Portland International Airport. So PDX metro area is the area surrounding portland. - Alex Scoble
Ahhhhh.... Cool. - Johnny Worthington

Any intial impressions of Portland's newest blog Our PDX Network? - http://ourpdx.net/
I think it should be an open blog that allows other bloggers in PDX to post stories. Kind of like: www.socialmediatoday.com - Andrew
I think it's best summarized as "Like Metblogs, but without the suck" - Aaron B. Hockley
Um...I'm totally biased (it's my baby!), but it may grow up to be an open blog. One day. But not right now - it's a sideline of mine, and doing an open blog right would take more time and energy than I can give it, honestly. - Betsy Richter
