My server logs tell me that my election FAQ page got 75,000 views. This justifies my decision to spend my time researching and writing the FAQ rather than, say, making phone calls. I remember in 2004 making some calls for Kerry, and Juliet, who was 8, wanted to know why I was doing that on a weekend rather than playing with her. I explained what I was doing and she said "Dad, I don't think anyone is going to change their mind on who to vote for just because you call them up." I told her she was very wise, but the point was mostly to remind them to vote, not to change their mind. But maybe my FAQ was more effective. - Peter Norvig from Bookmarklet
