After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage. - Peter Simard

I know the chance to somehow distract from McCain's acceptance speech is attractive but the downside potential for Obama here is HUGE. The man does not do well on his feet at all and making people look like stammering fools is O'Reilly's forte. This is a big risk for the Obama campaign. Here's to hoping Obama goes down in flames! - Peter Simard
This interview has been a long time coming. I am looking forward to it. - Evan Brown
It seems strange that few people consider how awkward Obama is when not speaking from a prepared speech on a telelprompter. Even in the Saddleback forum you could see him rambling while thinking of an answer. Obama is a great speaker I won't deny that but he can really be strange when speaking off the cuff. - tsudohnimh
not a good idea imo. besides, why validate a hate-monger like o-reilly? - Cee Bee

I couldn't believe this when I read it last night. Alan Colmes blogged some similar stuff yesterday too. It crashed his site when conservatives inundated him with comments. He eventually took the post down all together, and sorta apologized. - Trevor Carpenter
I mean, what kind of person thinks this up? Obviously someone completely lacking in character. I would have thought better of Colmes though. - Peter Simard
