Plus Trapster works in Virginia and DC. . . legally.
- Dave Roth
I'm loading it right now. The map for my local area is very accurate. I can't wait to see what it can do on the road. Thanks for the tip Robert:)
- Michael Fidler
Trapster is a great idea, but I found it to be highly inaccurate.
- Otto
from iPhone
My Trapster was going off over Labor Day Weekend - and the alert can be startling, at first! (It's a siren). I've found the freshly reported alerts the most accurate.
- Kurt Starnes
Cool. Nice to know there's a webOS version coming
- Rodfather
love the idea, been thinking of similar thing like alerting the phone owners off the police parties/speed traps ahead, its an application i was thinking of a messaging system. whenever a motorist approaches the speed trap or traffic cops could be alerted via a flash message, and i wanted it to work on all GSM phones, a user could report the traffic cops to a number which would then alert the motorists going in that direction, it would require the use of a lot of hardware but it was just an idea
- testbeta
Thanks Pete for the service and thanks Scoble for letting us know
- testbeta
I wonder how the info is provided. If it comes from the police, I am not sure they would divulge the true locations.
- Brent - Long Live Rock
Have to say, agree with @Bryce You could always do the safe and responsible thing and drive safely in the first place. From someone who got 'done' 3 times as a kid, I now stick closely to the limits. Less stressful as a whole.

@imjustcreative @bryce Yep agree would be really nice to hear about the guy that killed someone while checking his anti-radar iphone app <sarcasm
- roger byrne
Pha, old hat. This stuff has been available to Sat Nav users forever. I have this on TomTom on my Palm LifeDrive, it's a simple database of camera locations with GPS coordinates. Move along, nothing to see here.
- Gilbert Harding
gilbert: it is now at a wide level, and Roger: this application speaks so no need to look at the screen
- testbeta
@gilbert Oh thats sooo much better now, now its only some ppl getting killed because of ppl playing the system <real big sarcasm
- roger byrne
Here's' a thought for you Roger. There have been some serious accidents in the UK because of people suddenly slowing down when they see a speed camera up ahead. Causing the vehicle behind to ram into them. Now you could blame both, or just the guy behind for not paying attention or going a bit too quick. But if both of them had some advance warning of the camera, I leave you to...
- Gilbert Harding
Gilbert your trying to justify something that promotes illegal activities either way you cut it. If the people weren't speeding they wouldn't have to slow down for speed cameras...so in the end its the speed thats killing not cameras or radars!
- roger byrne
Roger: it is just to avoid those traffic checkpoints, nobody wants to be handed a ticket for whatever reason it is, these things help it makes people extra cautious and i would praise the guy(pete) behind it
- testbeta
Roger The official line on the purpose of the cameras is to slow traffic to the posted speed limit. Therefore they do the job and would continue to do so if every driver knew their locations. All that would change is the revenue stream from the cameras.
- Gilbert Harding

I am FOR this, 100%. Nothing really matters. Anyone can see. Nothing really matters...to me. Ergo, if it's shiny, I'm for it. More fun that way. Y'all can drive 600 miles an hour and burn for all I care. Or not. Point is, all of you law-abiding do-gooders are only protecting an extortion-based government revenue stream system.
- Will Conley
where can I get in the beta for the Palm Pre version of Trapster?
- Matt Kurio
@will good point. More folks would drive the speed limit if cops pulled you over to give you a fistful of cash.

You should try MySpace, Robert, I'm sure you'd love it ;-)
- Phil Jeudy
I'm pretty sure I haven't seen you on Hello Kitty Online, either. Wait, I mean—never mind.
- Mark Trapp
Robert, the people who want lots of followers follow anyone, hoping the following will be returned. For most people, following fewer people leads to fewer follows, not more.
- Michael Krigsman
I'm friends with a guy who sings in a death metal band and he loves Hello Kitty. Creepy eh? :D Nice guy though.
- MarkCarras
Yes, but what is the quality of those followers? it's all very low quality people who will never respond or converse with you.
- MarkCarras
I don't want the most followers. I want to have conversations with smart people. Which is why I am here and why I follow you.
- Robert Scoble
LOL! Best line I've read all day, Scoble. Well done, sir.
- Steven Perez
I haven't seen you on LinkedIn. If you haven't checked it out recently, you may want to revisit it. Conversations are now supported within LinkedIn groups, and they also have their "Answers" feature. In my case, LinkedIn is more relevant to my job (but FriendFeed is more relevant to my interests).

As much as I hate myspace, I have to use it, and I'd like to know when FF will be adding the service. I have a few other questions, but can't think of them now.
- shaun mclane
When will they add proper Xbox 360 support? (games played, achievements, etc).
- engtech
I wish they'd fin a better way to integrate LastFM data.
- Mykl Roventine
I'd like to be able to "push" content to Jaiku, Pownce, Tumblr. A two-way "feed", otherwise, it's just a fancy reader. How 'bout a true "one stop integration point".

What's the business model going to be? Oh, and how about a separate tab at the top that shows the top "likes"... I mean, voting is all the rage these days. That's a suggestion, not a question, but why not...
- Vince DeGeorge
2nd the iPhone version: specifically, in terms of the SDK and not just the web app.
- Casey Kusiak
@engtech, agreed, we want our gamertag stats please
- Devin Anderson
their changelog is great, but would be fun to hear more about how they have developed it.
- Amund Tveit
I'd really like to hear the answer to John McCrea's question - what's their value model, and related to this can they share thoughts on how they plan to monetize the service eventually?
- Jon Mulholland
I would like to know more about how they plan to improve their algorithm so interesting content finds me.
- Steve Rubel
How do they plan to personalize content according the device I use as I have different interest/time/goals when I surf through my IPhone, etc.
- David Sadigh
When will I be able to export my subscribed friendfeeds? as an OPML file?
- Adnan
Also, their iPhone version is a little wonky b/c of the Ajax.
- Steve Rubel
Can they bring in all my friends from a service? Like all my facebook friends pictures and status updates?
- Christian Burns
I'd like the option to hide all items from service X (i.e. digg or twitter). This is valuable because I watch the twitter page outside of FF and I have to see the entries twice.
- Mark Interrante
Also, why about a feature allowing to follow comments left on bogs - or feeds from coComment and other comment tracking service?
- David Sadigh
One more. I would love to see full text feeds here. Turn this puppy into a reader.
- Steve Rubel
Possibility to remove all entries when removing a service from own profile?
- Benedikt Koehler
When a new (less minimal, and less blue/generic) design is coming (if at all)?
- Chris Thomson
I`d like to know when (and if at all:-)) FF adds CoComment and Wikipedia user-contributions (oh, and something like twittervision for FF shouldn`t be that difficult ;-)
- xconroy
I would like to reflect the earlier comment . Yes please for support for my Xbox Live Account and Gamertags
- Nik Butler
When will i be able to use Friend Feed to register and authorise my self on new social media sites thereby sidestepping the resubscribing friends requirement.
- Nik Butler
Agree with xconroy about the Wikipedia Special:Contributions feed. The only problem is the fact that there are no per-user feeds, that I know of. FF would have to parse the entire feed coming out of Special:RecentChanges and filter by username, which has its own drawbacks because there are usually gaps in that feed. I'd suggest using the IRC feed, like huggle does. Can FF read IRC?
- Voyagerfan5761
Do they have plans for providing feeds which retain the full semantic information. Currently you have to parse it to get the full data. Their feed is targeted for end user consumption and not further mashups. A xml feed like twitter with more information would be nice and enable mashups on top of them..
- Angsuman Chakraborty
@Angsuman Chakraborty: I'm guessing that was a question about Wikipedia's contributions feed. I don't really know if there are any plans to provide additional feeds. I should probably go search MediaZilla to see if there are any bugs, open or closed (as WONTFIX of course), pertaining to such an issue. You're always welcome to submit a feature request yourself (though I might do it). ;-) Anyone on the FriendFeed team have an account at bugzilla.wikimedia.org?
- Voyagerfan5761
What about microformats? They are about to manage many informations...like this comment on your twwet over here, Robert ;) Do they care, what for?
- Phil Jeudy
When will FriendFeed go down every other hour just like Twitter?
- joebrooks
They should add "All Consuming" to the trackable profiles.
- Bill Bittner
Just don't make us wait too long for the video...
- Anthony Farrior
Seeing how FF has scaled so well so far, I would love to hear about the tech behind it: architecture, programming stack, qa, deployment, etc.
- Ryan W
I echo the wish for mobile access (although in my case it's a Windows Mobile phone rather than an iPhone). Will FriendFeed release its own version, or are they instead encouraging third parties to come up with mobile interfaces? I also like John McCrea's question about the endgame - specifically, is there a monetization plan, or will FriendFeed disappear when funding runs out?
- Ontario Emperor
I'd like to see a way to mark posts as read like in Google reader. But definitely echo Mark Interrante in that it'd be good to filter out certain services from other users. Anyone know of a FF app equivalent to Twhirl?
- Phil Ashman
just thought of another one. I'd like to see comments people make on my content. I don't see an easy way to do it currently.
