MAN gave me a card and a Mt Dew for Valentines. I gave him candy, a card and a horrible little glass dragon that was way above my ability to even attempt (live and learn). What, if anything, did you do for Valentine's?
I sent unmentionables to Bee Dub's job. Wait, what?
- LB: #TeamMonique
i kissed my wife on the mouth and did the dishes and laundry. i'm also gonna make dinner. actually, i usually do all those things already.
- Joe "Bad Guts" Silence
Nothing- anniversary tomorrow, so card, present, and meal out then. Albeit with David as well :)
- Pete #TeamMonique
I got flowers (with a card that quoted Heinlein - Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own) and I sent chocolate covered strawberries with something probably much less romantic on the card, but I've already forgotten it.
- WebGoddess
Had a bundle from ProFlowers delivered to the house: a dozen roses, a teddy bear, a stick that goes in the flower vase that says "I Love You" and a small box of chocolates.
- DAMMIT, MR. NOODLE
Chris bought me a thing of Potato Sticks off the discount rack at the grocery store. And I got a card from his parents.
- Heather
I sent several Hallmark cards out to loved ones. I have received absolutely nothing myself though. Which is how this usually works. Ask me again why me and this holiday don't get along.
- Hookuh Tinypants
I brought in a basket of Hershey kisses in little bags with a sticker attached that said "This Valentine's Day I got a kiss in the library." Jeff is on the road, so nothing else special except for the usual snuggling with dogs.
- Running Slow
I'm waiting for tomorrow to buy candy half price.
- Amit Patel
I made decedent desserts for my husband and two other couples who are best friends of ours. We had a low key evening just hanging out and chocolate overloading! I think there is too much pressure on romance, it causes too much stress. I prefer to make it about friendship and sweets!!!!
- Rachel Lea Fox
we dont really do valentine's - it's a recent introduction here and it's close enough to birthdays, so we do birthdays

"By 2008, nearly two-thirds of teens never wore watches, and only one in ten wore a watch daily." -- poll reported by CBS (via "What an Apple Watch is good for" by Kevin Fox, http://kfury.com/what-an...) -- so, FF, question for you. Do you wear a watch regularly?
I stopped wearing watches long before I gave them up entirely. I always hated wearing it on my wrist, so early in HS I clipped it to a dedicated keychain/belt clip. Of course, since cell phones I've just completely stopped.
- Andrew C (✓)
Pocket watch but esp when traveling (time zones) use my phone
- WarLord
Nope - iPhone is my watch. I have less than zero interest in adding an 'iWatch' to my collection. (this comment before reading KFox's blog)
- Ken Gidley
I had one until I carried a cell phone everywhere... Couldn't imagine strapping something to my wrists again...
- Ross Miller
I used to, but after the battery died, I just kind of stopped.
- Eric - seven eleven
Eric, so true about the dead battery thing. I went through three watches just because they had a dead battery and taking it somewhere to get the battery replaced somehow felt like more work than getting a new one...
- Ross Miller
I used to take pride in a good watch. Nothing too fancy, but some sharp watches I could still put on for an occasion. Like I said, they just need batteries. Back in the day I had that exact Casio watch.
- Eric - seven eleven
OMG, GOTTA HAVE A iWATCH NOW! (after reading KFox's blog post). Very interesting ideas, Kevin.
- Ken Gidley
I don't feel dressed unless I have a watch on!
- Eithne Herd
I don't wear one because I can just pull out my iPhone. Saying that, I'd prefer not to have to pull out my iPhone to check the time or the other basic features such as who a text is from. Since I've started running and cycling again, having a small RunKeeper interface on my wrist rather than having to twist to see my iPhone screen in my arm strap would be awesome... especially for marking things like laps etc

I'm really excited about getting my Pebble sometime soon. I haven't used a watch in about 4 years.
- Juan Pablo González
No. Pulls the hair on my arms and feels weird.
- Me
I lost mine for a couple of months, but was I got it back I started wearing it again.
- Betsy #TeamMonique
Yes. Somehow, walking next door (to a jeweler) to my favorite Chinese restaurant once every two years to replace a $5 battery doesn't seem like an enormous burden.
- Walt Crawford
Back in the day I had my fancy watch with a calculator (boring) but also a racing game. Woo woo, speed racer goooo. But I think my iPhone does all that now ;)
- Amit Patel
I don't but it wasn't digital stuff that got me out of the habit. When I became disabled and needed to wear wrist braces, it was too difficult to wear a wrist watch anymore. And while I don't wear braces that much anymore, I haven't picked up the habit again because my favorite watches are broken. I'd still like to own a really good mechanical watch. I loathe battery-operated watches because we've got a perfectly good way of telling time that doesn't create battery waste.
- Spidra Webster
Still wear watches since I wasn't always able to bring my phone into work.
- c.a.j.
I stopped using watches after I got my first pager. I wouldn't mind a smartwatch with a heart rate monitor.
- Rodfather
If I'm swimming in the ocean, why would I tote along a teacup of seawater? No wrist watch for decades now.
- Micah
from FFHound(roid)!
Every day that I go out of the house. I have several in various colors and straps from casual to dressy.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
I mainly wear retro Casio watches that have survived the years (and I recently had a battery-fest to get them running again). Occasionally I wear an analog one.
- Nick B.
Last watch was probably 1999. I have way to much wrist hair. Never liked wearing a watch.
- Mike Nencetti
If by wear you mean wear on my key chain, then yes. (but I don't own a cell phone, so I am not sure if it counts)
- April Russo
My daughter just bought a watch for herself, for wearing at work. There is a strict rule there about not having your cell phone on your person while working, so she needs to use something else to tell the time.
- April Russo
Yes, every day. I need it for work but I'd wear it anyway. It's seems much easier than pulling out a phone.
- Anne Bouey
A couple years ago my watch band broke while pulling off a coat or sweatshirt, and I didn't realize it was in the sleeve until too late. When I picked up said clothing item, the watch fell to the floor as I left and I didn't know it. I went nearly a year without replacing it (I only where one not-very-expensive "runner's" watch.) I figured my smartphone would suffice, but there are many...

- Jkram|ɯɐɹʞſ
No, I've not worn a watch since I had a phone. My phone comes with a clock which is sync'ed to a server to keep itself updated so not sure why I need another watch around my wrist.
- Kol Tregaskes
But if you are in situation that is already unproductive and a waste a time, does that make sleep a viable option? e.g. waiting for luggage at the airport?
- Dario Gomez
I'm not going to lie, I'd go on the JoCo Crazy Cruise... if it weren't always smack in the middle of the three-four months out of the year where I can't take vacation or really travel that much :P
- Jennifer Dittrich
I had meant to replace my classic with my pro because the classic is like 20 years old and I wanted a new toy. But honestly...I can't give her up. (that and making a single batch of cookies in a 6 quart bowl isn't quite as easy as it is in a 4.5)
- Hookuh Tinypants
Don't forget to check out how much space you have under your cabinets before deciding. I can't get a Pro because it won't fit under my cabinets very easily and I don't want to store one in a cupboard.
- Katy S
yeah, i am torn. i have to keep my current one in my pantry right now. I have some stuff that i am now "storing" on my dining room table (that we never actually eat on). #toomanykitchenappliances

If you find a buy-one-get-one-free sale (yeah, right), think of me.

Last week my mom slipped on ice and fell down some stairs. She broke her arm. Yesterday a woman with a cleaning company called her and told her that an annon friend had paid for one house cleaning to help mom out. Wish I'd thought of it.
Even though you didn't, it is still pretty cool that one of her friends did. I'm filing away that idea for the future. I hope she's feeling better soon.
- Jennifer Dittrich
Let me go on record as saying should anyone EVER want to send somone over to clean my house as a 'pick me up' you have my permission :D
- Shannon - GlassMistress
I'm very sorry, Alex. Not everyone appreciates the sadness and sense of loss that comes from losing a beloved pet, but here on FF there are many who know all too well, and we share your grief.
- Jkram|ɯɐɹʞſ
That's my Moxie with her little white chin! Nicky, your two are adorable!
- Bash
For those who don't know this is Moxie and Umlaut. We fostered them in 2009 and they were each adopted by FriendFeeders. Bash adopted Moxie and Anna adopted Umlaut!

"How do you photograph a 3,200-year-old giant sequoia that rises 247 feet from the ground? Michael "Nick" Nichols did it by stitching together 126 images into one fantastic photo of an absolutely majestic tree."

I was actually really disappointed with this photo when this issue came in the mail. There is a lot of blatant rubber stamping or over layering in the background. I can't look at the photo (in paper or on my ipad) without seeing all the duplication, it drives me nuts. They could have done a much better job.
- Rachel Lea Fox
This photo is above one of the urinals at Sports Basement, so I've seen it a few times. (It's a fold-out, double or triple page)

This is Sparky Rick Rolling us at our wedding 4 years ago. This is Kevin and I realizing we just got Rick Rolled at our wedding (He was supposed to read the quote my sister gave him, she didn't realize she shouldn't have trusted Sparky). This is his wife (then fiancee) being embarrassed to be seen with Sparky as he just Rick Rolled our wedding.
I keep trying to decide whether his or our Wedding Rick Roll was better. Sparky's was totally out of the blue, we never saw it coming and it took us a minute to figure it out. It was awesome. For ours, he and Erin were expecting it all day. They expected our table singing to Rick Roll them, or that we would use their DJ. But no, we let them go their whole wedding with nothing and got...

They were both awesome. I love these pictures!

For the record, I think it was Justin's idea. But I know a great idea when I see one.
- Brian Johns
Really, it was Justin's idea? Well maybe we need to find a way to Rick Roll him now too. ;)
- Rachel Lea Fox
I'm not 100% sure of that. My memory of things that far back is fuzzy.

I'm 0.2% Alien!!! Thank you 23andMe!! My DNA does confirm what I have been told by family about my ancestry. I am pretty much entirely European. But apparently I am also 0.2% something that is not assigned to the 22 worldwide populations. Therefore I must be part Alien!! AWESOME!!!
Yes I am! :) Mutant Alien Neanderthal! Hmmmm... If I rearrange that name a bit I wonder if I could get a theme song and a sensei! And pizza!
- Rachel Lea Fox
Rachel, was going to DM you my e-mail so we could share/compare 23&me genomes... but I think you need to be following me first? Or are DMs broken?
- Steve and 4 other people
Huh, I used to be subscribed to you. Not sure what happened. Fixed now.
- Rachel Lea Fox
I did Connect My DNA (Groupon deal for $20!) - mostly, I'm Irish and Scottish. Planning to do 23andme as well. So cool! I'm honored to know someone who's part alien. ;)
- Bash
Hello fellow alien!! I love the breakdowns in the graph. I hadn't seen that feature when I first posted about being alien. I have a lot of nonspecific European, but mostly it seems Northern and Eastern European, which lines up with my family tree just about right seeing as I have 4 straight lines from my Grandparents being either 1st generation americans or 2nd generation americans. I'm Irish/Welsh, German, Polish & British. I really want to know which side of the family my alien parts come from though! :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
Given that a lot of stuff is licensed under CC, I think it's going to be really hard (and this is a cover, so bets are already off...)
- Steve and 4 other people
Right, but he addresses both points in his post. This was a copyrighted original composition (only the lyrics were covered? Not sure).

It looks like the info is traveling through the Glee sites and other avenues of Wil Wheaton. I'm sure the show will have to address it now.
- Rachel Lea Fox
honestly, who has yet to learn not to cross swords with Wil Wheaton? they are toast!

This is Kevin's cousin Ingrid and her new husband Edson. They requested that all the guests, as their gift to the couple, wear just black and/or white to the wedding.
