I don't really do any photography that benefits from a filter so I'm not the best one to ask. I do have some filters but the ones I've picked up have all been in filter packs from eBay (e.g. a UV, ND4, CPL, and Star-8 filter in one pack from Hong Kong all for under a tenner); the UV or Star-8 would then stay on the lens for protection at all times and I might put the CPL on if I was shooting at something highly reflective. - Mark H
