mi arrivano le peggiori proposte di supplenze dalle scuole più infami. 6 ore in culo al mondo, 10 ore per 20giorni con classi di 35maschi, altre 6 nel libro cuore. non ne posso più, mi daranno l'incarico quando sarò uno di quei vecchi prof che ha perso ogni spirito di iniziativa e dovrò anche essere chiamato coglione perché la gente non ha idea.

è un meccanismo di reclutamento malato e inefficace, si va avanti per anzianità e cambiano le regole ogni 2 anni salvo poi mettere toppe con sanatorie e ricorsi vari. l'età media dei prof è superiore ai 40 anni se non 50, poi si stupiscono che sia un lavoro ad altissimo rischio di esaurimento nervoso

@Federi' non è detto che siano poveracci, muoiono sul lavoro anche parecchi italiani coi documenti in regola. Questo senza nulla togliere alla tristezza del momento, ma trovo che se scegli di fare il militare e eserciti la tua professione in zona di guerra morire sia tra le opzioni possibili molto di più che se sei muratore e lavori su un'impalcatura a Vicenza (esempio a caso).

@Bisax concordo pienamente. Trovo che se uno decide di intraprendere la carriera militare e decide di partire volontario per le missioni di "peace keeping" (perché non ti constringono, sia ben chiaro) debba mettere in conto l'eventualità di lasciarci la pelle. E' vero anche che muoiono molti italiani sul lavoro, ricordo quelli della Thyssen, ma solamente in quel caso si è registrata un'emotività pari a quelle dei casi di soldati in missione. E' chiaro che l'amplificazione data dai media, ha il suo peso.

My comment is because they can see by the flood of responses people are not happy and this post is just a smidge tacky. People are upset and feel betrayed and they haven't addressed that, not that I expected them too. This is pretty much inline with the way they've handled every other major change but before you only had a handful of disgruntles users whereas this time I'd say the majority are upset.

I use facebook but I find it really annoying and I wouldn't use it if my friends and family weren't using it. Facebook obviously liked FriendFeed a long time ago. Why would they have copied so many features (feed item comments and the "Like" action, to name a couple) otherwise? It was only logical for this to happen eventually. Doesn't mean I like it, but acquisition is part of the game. I have the same feeling I did when SocialThing! was acquired by AOL, though.

Nicholas: The upside for Facebook is they just bought an engineering team that's built many of the feature's Facebook's going to need to stay competitive. The upside for FriendFeed's engineering team is $$$ and the ability to build system for a wider audience. FriendFeed's user base is small enough that it'll either get absorbed into Facebook or move on, and FF will become a footnote on the Internet timeline.

Looks like I'm going to repeat the same thing many others did. My first reaction was "Oh my..." I have refused to join Facebook due to its philosophy while I have been with FriendFeed from the beginning for its. I'm sad and somewhat apprehensive.

Awful news for users but congratulations to you guys. Ideally, FB will run FF as a distinct service but I'm not hopeful. I don't want the diversity and noise that facebook brings - people doing quizzes on which movie star they resemble and playing silly games. I also wanted to keep my day to day social activity distinct from the targeted information and discussion I use FF for.

While I'm happy for the FF team, since I guess this is what they wanted (congrats guys!), I can't help but think this is the beginning of the end for a great service and a vibrant community. There are reasons I don't spend any time on Facebook and do spend lots of time on FF, and some kind of "FF integrated into Facebook" just won't cut it. I hope this service will live on for at least a few more years.

Thomas Power still believes that Facebook/FF/Linkedin (2010) will be acquired by Apple (2011) and this is a transitional acquisition in the SN market cycle. The world is shifting to Mac, iTunes, iPhones and FB own the next generation. Apple have $29bn of cash on deposit price is not an issue. Just finished setting up my lifestream.fm at http://lifestream.fm/dfaulkner. Lifestream does what it says, and no more. FF's search blows lifestream away. FF is more flexible about adding source feeds, but lifestream does fine without the flexibility I suppose. FF still wins, or would, if I thought it would be sticking around. :P

I also hate facebook, not because of their silly quizzes and pokes, but because I suspect they would like to maintain massive user base as the determining factor in choosing a social network. I would love to switch to orkut as I use so many other google services, but I can't because nobody else does. That should not be my criteria....
