great post John - def agree with most of it all except for Tweetdeck for now.. I really do like it because the platform allows the user to see all followers information all in one. I have been having some trouble with Tweetdeck lately and I do hope I get it back ;) Happy New Year! May your year be bright and look forward to more to come esp. via RBC! Best ~ Sus :)

write a strongly worded article about spam generation. I particularly like the affluence.org qualifications...$3M net worth or recommend five friends. Hmmm which do you think they'll get more of.
- John Sumser
u can't - just give in LOL ;) btw - thx for ur note. appreciate it. best!

"Completely agree.. I just have to say (looking from both sides of the table) I'd be happier if the potential employer actually takes notice when a candidate can lead.. not just be reactive. That is truly frustrating both ways. Show good manners, definitely but when it comes to being proactive about "inquiring" that should be focused all the way. Rockstar candidate look for rockstar employers ~ Break a leg! ;) Susan @pinkolivefamilyR"

I will do my best to be there - definitely something to watch Friday night at 9PM EST with everything going on with the economy ugh. best!

That day. I got home around midnight on a flight from Washington. Turned on the TV and saw the news. Shocking. How far we've come. Not far. The effects of that terrorist act are now felt every day. Think about the ill conceived war we brought to Iraq and all the lives lost over there. Taxes, oil, environment, freedom, security, terror. All worse. Going forward. It's a mess and we need to think about who we are going to vote for in the next election.
- Steve Garfield
I understand. I made an analogy of the day with " food fight"

No. I worked at World Trade Center until right b4 9/11 - still paying my respect, still in awe of what Morgan Stanley Security guard did to get all my old colleagues out from 2 WTC 74th floor and every single person from MSDW survived except for him (1 injured).

I was in high school at the time, had no idea how significant it was. Had never seen such a thing before, didn't know what to think about it. Oh how things have changed since then.

I was at a Yankees game last summer. I was sitting behind two young guys, at at 9:11 PM, one of them said to the other, "Dude. Look what time it is." It is always in your consciousness. Always will be.

"Clearly there are a number of corporate recruiters who do blog and some of their blogs help them hire people. But why don't more corporate recruiters blog? Why is it that the recruiting blogosphere is dominated by job board owners, vendors, and corporate recruiters who do blog and some of their blogs help them hire people. Interesting question Steven with so many ways to explore that question per se (many factors I can only assume as being perceived so far) - will look into Jim Durbin of StlRuecruiting. Thanks Steven. Best~

We're either going to have a half black, or woman in the oval office, either way, this is a change. In the future, could we ever have a gay, hispanic, asian, or even a clone in office? Now we know, anything is possible
Jeremiah, change does indeed take time - and I, for one, am glad to see the movement away from gender and ethnic background towards qualifications. However, people will always gravitate towards candidates that are most like themselves... so in that regards there will always be some biased.

I don't care what gender, color, or religion they are. I'm far more concerned with how they perform. Whoever gets the job, I'm not holding my breath on that one though.
- Ian May
whose saying we haven't had a clone yet?
- clarke thomas
I'm thinkin' a smurf in the Whitehouse might be the answer at this point
- Charlie Anzman
Gay? Unlikely. Non-Christian? Highly unlikely. Come on, Brian, share. ;)
- Jack (a.k.a. Jeber)
We've already had a gay president -- James Buchanan. At the time, his better half was referred to as "Aunt Fancy" by Buchanan's critics.http://lindholm.jp/chinf_b...

"Futurist Paul Saffo was eating at a buffet style restaurant recently, and spotted a curious policy. The eatery will charge you $2.00 extra for any left over food. Is this a move against rising food prices, or more of an ethical rule to encourage less waste?"

every sunday i read the local newspaper and enjoy it. also every morning that i'm in a hotel room i read my free copy of the wall street journal or USA Today
- Jonathan Jesse
We get three here at home: Wall St. Journal, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle. It's a challenge to read them, I'm getting most updates via web.
- Hutch Carpenter
the only time I ever read one is when visiting family or in a doctor's office. I never buy one myself and just read it because it is there. My local paper has everything online so nosense in buying it when I can just view one of the few local stories I may want to read for free.
- Dean Clark
It's been years since I've sat down for any length of time to go through a paper from front to back. It used to be one of those things I really looked forward to doing too - Saturday morning, pot of coffee and a few hours with the paper. Now it seems less relevant to me.
- Kevin Cearns
2 weeks ago, Financial Times. I always read FT on paper. Love that touch-and-feel of FT :)
- Hayk H.
Does the NYTimes on my Kindle count? If yes, every morning!
- JMaultasch
Some 30 minutes ago. Huge amount of information presented in the net cannot replace the satisfaction of the smell of ink and the lovely breeze and sun of boshphorus in Istanbul :)
- Oguzhan Eren
I would like to congratulate Oguzhan on his first comment on FriendFeed. welcome!

We usually buy a sunday paper a couple or three times a year on the impetus that there's a big sale (like Black Friday). But the main reason we buy it is so that I have liner for my bird's cage for the next few months.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
Whenever I'm in a hotel and they provide the local paper. I find local papers fascinating.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Yesterday. The Sunday NYT is a treasure and a joy to read.
- Mark Interrante
Saturday...start of the college football season! Otherwise, very infrequently.
- JA Castillo
I read my local paper probably 3X/week and whenever I'm looking to have a good time on the road I'll buy a NYT or WSJ. I love the newspaper.
- Marshall Kirkpatrick
This morning. I don't get the paper. I read it at the gym.
- geekazine
1988. My wife is allergic to newsprint.

Last saturday. It nice to READ what the talking heads are saying once a week. Makes a change from blogs. Theres pros and cons to both sources of info.
- Roberto Bonini
I love reading a paper when I go out for breakfast. Nothing is quite as satisfying. Staring at your laptop seems anti-social whereas flipping through a paper allows for more interaction. But I still like books too.
- Todd Hoff
I read the NYT and Philadelphia Inquirer daily. Can't find articles online like I do when flipping pages. And the crossword -- no way.
- Frank Roche
Sunday's I get the paper for the coupons.
- R. Ferguson
This morning - I love reading our local paper (Charleston, WV), it's really quite uplifting. I did recently cancel my Kindle NY Times subscription, though!
- Michael Connick
Every day: NYT, Washington Post. But by the time I read them, I've already read it on the net.
- iSteeve
Years, unless a section is left behind on BART or a restaurant.
- Louis Gray
A month. I read a bit at my parents house since they get the newspaper. But I think they mostly get it to do the crosswords.
- Alex Scoble
i subscribe to the LA times, but by the time i read it, there's probably only about 10 articles that i haven't already seen online.
- Admiral Anika
a looooong time. I keep thinking I'll subscribe to the WSJ but I know I won't read it. I spend most of my commute time in my g reader on my iPhone.

At least 10 years, and I used to read 5 newspapers a day (including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post).
- Sean McBride
Almost 2 years. In fact, we forgot to buy one the day our baby was born like we have for our other 3 kids since it's just not a part of our lives any more.
- Jesse Stay
Yesterday and every Sunday. NY Times.
- Dave Martin
This Saturday, the great Independent, though not bought a paper before then for ages. But we in London get several free papers that are dotted around every tube and Greater London station so I pick up the odd one sometimes to read
- Kol Tregaskes
I read one last winter out of curiosity. For the most part the answer could be 4-5 years?
- Kevin Gamble
I read the SJ Mercury from cover to cover yesterday. But honestly I only read the paper about once per week. Much easier to read news on the web in between tasks throughout the day.
- Jeff P. Henderson
Only when I go to a hotel on business, or it's at a restaurant lobby. I bought maybe 4 in the last year.
- Jeremiah Owyang
I read at least one newspaper every morning. I think it helps get away from the tunnel vision created by niche communities
