Aww, so timely, it's our 4th wedding anniversary today. This is the song we played at our reception when our flower girls & ring bearer were announced at their entrance to the reception. Thanks for posting a good memory for me :)

"The Icare motorcycle concept is a cross between something from Tron and "a kind of Porsche or Aston Martin for the two-wheeled world," according to France-based Enzyme Design, the minds behind the concept. It's intended to have a six-cylinder 1.8 liter Honda engine, which is more than what you'd find in some compact cars. Will it ever go into production? No word, but Enyzme's earlier L'atomo concept did, so future bikers will have some hope."

"Two fair-sized tidal energy projects are on their way to the east coast. First up is (ready for this mouthful?) the Edgartown-Nantucket Tidal Energy Plant Water Power Project. The project proposes 50 underwater turbines turned by the ebb and flow of the tide. A 3 mile-long transmission line would carry the electricity generated to land, where it would be sold to local utilities. Edgartown and Nantucket would be the beneficiaries of the 2 MW of peak output. The second project is planned for Vineyard Sound and it has a slightly more manageable title: The Cape and Islands Tidal Energy Project. This project is looking at clusters of underwater turbines – each with the ability to put out between 1 and 3 MW during peak tide – with up to 150 of these energy generators installed. The proposed turbines are on the scale of what was recently installed off Ireland, which is a 1.2 MW turbine and touted as the world’s largest."

hopefully they come up with something a little more appealing to the eyes because i doubt the residents of a place like nantucket will want to see that kind of structure (the part that's above water) every time they head to the shore.

Just a comment about ecogeek in general: I've been a big fan of this blog for quite a while now.

I'm also a big fan of ecogeek since I am one myself but I prefer to think of myself as an ecochic ecogeek, if that makes any sense...
