"The researchers show that so-called "constructal theory" can explain basic characteristics of locomotion for every creature -- how fast they get from one place to another and how rapidly and forcefully they step, flap or paddle in relation to their mass. Constructal theory is a powerful analytical approach to describing movement, or flows, in nature."

The wikipedia page though makes me wonder if this is just mumbo jumbo.

Is it just me, or is every sentence in that article utter bullshit? Even the title sounds like it is from The Onion.

Mark Noonan, after about 6 years of blogging, has finally made a blog post that is accurate? Can this be possible? For the record, I think this is evidence that Grayson isn't a Democratic Jesse Helms as I had earlier speculated, but more a Democratic Frank Cremeans (a one-term congressman from '94 I had to look up).

My dream scenario: Sarah Palin clinches the GOP nomination in 2012, but then drops out before the convention. Not for any political reasons, I just think it would be funny.

I wonder if TechCrunch will offer a separate "No mindless blather about any tiny feature of the Nexus One" RSS feed over the holidays. Is there any chance they don't average 2 posts a day for the rest of the year on this?

Money quote: "JooJoo? “It means magic,” Chandra says. Well, yes. But then, so does prestidigitation. And legerdemain. You wouldn’t use those for a product name, would you?"

A fair point not being mentioned. The question isn't whether his endorsements will dry up (they won't, having extramarital sex has to be on the approved vices list for Nike, etc.), it's whether it affects his golfing.

The annoying thing about these articles is that nearly all of them confuse "hottest searches" in the sense of most growth with "most common searches". I assume that "facebook", "google", "yahoo", and "youtube" are in the top 10 of any major search engine.

An article on "how much RAM do I need" can't be considered complete without a mention of the term "page cache", but this is generally accurate. Average end-users are probably fine with 3G of RAM still.

But, but, but the AP had "11 factcheckers" for the book! That proves that it must be accurate and claims otherwise are liberal bias, right? RIght? OK, fine, I can't say that with a straight face.

If Democrats can't find a way to make political hay out of the Republican's utter stupidity and complete disdain for the Consitution, legal system, and the entire rule of law, there really is no hope. The stupidity in the GOP position here is mind-boggling.

Does this man not believe in a legal system at all? Providing people lawyers, trial by jury, presenting a defense, this isn't radical stuff he is objecting to.

The most shocking part of the graphic is the fact that Obama got less than 10% of the white male vote in Alabama and Mississippi. I guess it's proof the "Solid South" never went away, it just switched parties and was masked by letting non-whites vote.

3500 dollar bikes! The Google bikes are about $80 (and these are fancier than the old ones). I'm not sure I believe that cost number, but even at $350 they are probably expensive. And of course there's massive repair costs even without vandalism. I have no idea who came up with the "no more than 4% damaged/stolen" number in the contract.

Any right-wingers that celebrate this as "proof" they are winning are morons. The goal may be to go more conservative, but you still want people to vote for you.

I'm tired of how everything is an attack on developers. Every new Google, Twitter, Facebook, Microsoft, ... feature/product is ALWAYS viewed as an attack on developers that "already did it", even if it is obvious and more useful built-in to the product. A developer ecosystem is far better off if it adds value in a non-trivial manner than adding features that should have existed and crying foul when they are added.
