Robert: Thanks. One of the things that scares me about cloud vs. server is if my server crashes for some random reason, I can call a techie at the data center who can focus on repairing 'my server' as soon as possible. If the cloud crashes, then I'm sort of at the mercy of when they can deal with the 'bigger issue' which might take longer than fixing say one box. (I should note I use both mosso & ded. servers)

Andrew I think we're going to see a move to multi-cloud operations so that instance of the cloud was really down you failover to another cloud. Some cloud vendors are positioning themselves as a redundancy option to Amazon.

Thanks for the info Mark Trapp. I've wanted to look into personal hosting in the Cloud, but prior to this it was ~$100 a month to do it and not cost effective but now at $20 it might be worth dipping my toe. I feel there will be a major shift and the majority of sites will be using the Cloud in ~5 years.

If you find an app crashing alot, open Safari and Force quit it. It's usually Safari hogging memory. You don't have to reboot the phone this way.

It's quite easy to do it with a Blogger blog. You just have to have the image be the first thing in your post. Nothing else special is needed.

***Here is the FF-enabled version of the MediaRSS plugin*** on Google Docs: http://docs.google.com/View... Cut and paste the text of that file and save it as "mrss.php". Upload that file into /wp-content/plugins/mrss/mrss.php and then activate the plugin from your WP control panel.

Actually, I am not sure if that is what it is. I think you need to upload the images to Blogger rather than another server. The posts with images that are not showing a thumbnail on FF all have the images uploaded to my server rather than Blogger, or created with Live Writer instead of the Blogger post editor.

It would be nice if they offered it for all images uploaded to any Picasa Web album and not just the Blogger album. Live Writer creates it's own album when you post images because it can't upload to the Blogger album.

"Online video site YouTube has been offering a "watch in higher quality" option since earlier this year. But higher quality doesn't mean high definition. It simply means that the videos are encoded in a higher bit rate and if you have a fast enough internet connection to keep up, the videos look a little better. But now it looks like YouTube is starting to add some honest to goodness high definition, 720p videos to the site. Members of the Video Help forums have spotted some videos available in HD, including the popular "Where the Hell is Matt" video."

I agree with Eldon. First: It can be a nightmare to find decent freeware apps for other phones (WM, Symbian). Second, some fucktard developers require you to download the applications onto a Windows PC first, instead of downloading it straight to the phone. Not so fun as a Mac or Linux user.

Definitely true about WinMo distribution systems often requiring a PC. That's so annoying. I used to use Handango on my Apache (Sprint), but I had a Handango account long before I had that phone, and preferred to have my purchases associated with the years-old account.

GitX is a git GUI specifically for Mac OS X. It currently features a history viewer much like gitk and a commit GUI like git gui. But then in silky smooth OS X style!
