the only pictures on the site are of folks in start trek garb that look like it was taken during a trek convention. i wonder if the site is legit & just up & coming. no pics of the premises or specific location w/ menu. if the site is legit, mentions of other scifi genres on the site make me think they should get off the ground w/ one 1st.

Heh. Noise, huh? And I thought status-posting was the point; that it's becoming a 'microblogging tool' was an inadvertant stopgap before services like FriendFeed (and such) popped up.

The only comment I made was wondering why they contacted us at all if they weren't going to be upfront about it. They didn't need our consent either way, so why bother? But now I'm looped into this article like I'm making a big stink.
- Veronica
I smell a great blog post. Short, sweet and unlikely to piss off Playboy or TC.
- AJ Kohn
yeah, and I realize I'm probably making it worse, but I just hate misinformation. Michael easily could have asked me about my opinion and didn't bother. He just went off one comment and then took it out of context.
- Veronica
Well, not that my opinion matters, but... I agree PB was not forthcoming in the request, however as V said in another Twit, its nice to be included, and doesn't mean you have to pose. I think your response to TechCrunch was prefect, and that the title of the article was stupid.
- Socom
Well porn is sort of the third rail isn't it? You wouldn't pose, but some may see it as a passive endorsement anyway.
- AJ Kohn
For what it's worth, your comment itself -- without the manufactured context -- reads pretty ho-hum and c'est la vie, like you're not as offended as he's making you out to be. I think that comes across to a degree that his context is a little forced. His post would have been just as effective had he focused on Sarah and used your comment peripherally.
- Kevin Hessel
quoting out-of-context to 'sensationalize' and get attention. Happens in mass (mess) media and new media too. What's so new about new, anyway? ;)
- Yung-Hui Lim
I'm saying that some (not me) might paint your "okay to be included but not to pose" as passive PB endorsement. They want outrage.
- AJ Kohn
are you saying there is something wrong with PB Mag? (not that I read it, but that GND show is funny as hell)
- Socom
FTW i am amazed that anyone considers PB to be pRon. They should have been upfront about the poll though. (ie. if you win we will ask you to model)
- Robert
@Socom: *chuckling* Me? No, I don't think there's anything wrong with PB magazine. Not that I have any laying around the house or anything!
- AJ Kohn
Its ok with me that you don't want out ... really ok...
- Todd Loren Sinclair
would i buy a copy if you posed? yep and cheer for geek ladies everywhere
- Danny Pratt
I'm really getting sick of all this pressure being put on this group of women from all sides. I happen to like PB, but they should have been more upfront... meanwhile, Laporte is out there telling them that they're being demeaned and insulted, and if they don't agree, there's something wrong with their values... while others here on FF are threatening to "disown" the participants if they were to dare to do what they like with their own lives.
- Roger Benningfield
@Roger: I completely agree. It's not fair at all. It's a bit sad that people seem to get more upset about nudity (or even the prospect of nudity) than violence. <sarcasm>People getting shot and beat up, that's okay - but the human body without clothes - egads! </sarcasm>
