The problem is that at least the fail whale was cool and the "go back" button just takes you to facebook's "home" page which is pointless too.
- Nicholas James
The really should have put Go Back since it would go back to where I was which would mean the "go back" worked
- Nicholas James
I wonder if i tweeted the same word 1000 times would it end up on the tending topics?
I don't need to prove that its not. The question is can you prove that it is otherwise the result is 'finite' although the actual result is unknown ;)

"With its many servers, Google devours electricity. And with search queries growing by 50%, it's only getting hungrier. The solution? Drill a two-mile-deep hole in the Earth, extracting geothermal energy and possibly destroying San Francisco with a terrible earthquake."
- Nicholas James
It's inevitable that FriendFeed are going to see spammers etc but do people really have to start to post pointless comments like this:
I guess that I am a noob then. What made you decide to target Anna? She posts good content. I checked your feed and found both F1 and MJ postings. Both of which I find to be mundane.
- Mathew A. Koeneker
Matthew: I am not targetting Anna's content. I am reffering to the comment by mycaptain which just says "like" hence the first comments which states "Posting "like" as a comment is as pointless, adds no value and most importantly makes you look like a n00b"
- Nicholas James
What difference does it make to you if he posts 'like'? Sometimes people run out of likes so type that to indicate they like the post. Who looks like a 'n00b' now?
- Anika Malone
I think Nicholas means "mycaptain" not Anna Haro...
- Mohomed Abdullahi
Then maybe he really, really wants her to see it. Still don't see the point of calling him out like this.
- Anika Malone
It really doesn't prove anything at all. Like as used in FF is usually just a marker. So "like" as the comment is valid. Yep, I liked it to prove a point. Some folks get a bit too full of themselves in these ole interwebz.
- Mathew A. Koeneker
Anika: I wasn't just specifically pointing out "mycaptain" as it occurs on numerous other sites for example on Techcrunch etc there are numerous comments on every post saying "first". All I am saying is that I wish it occur on FriendFeed because personally I think it is pointless and adds no value. I would have already DM'd mycaptain and said this too except he isn't subscribed to me.
- Nicholas James
Much ado about nothing, much? This has sure given a single word comment a lot of attention hasn't it??
- Chris Duffy
The problem with real time search engines currently is that they suck
There maybe an exception to this rule, although I haven't thought of it yet. Although its getting kindof annoying constantly getting DM's asking for a RT when there is nothing worth RT'ing.
- Nicholas James
@twitter your DM problem has got worse. Now constantly says I have 2 which is an increase from 1...when there are 0 messages ;)

"In a new report (PDF), mobile ad network AdMob says that 54% of the 2,300 apps that its ads appear in had fewer than 1,000 users in May"

However, I keep getting a database error "The database for Identi.ca isn't responding correctly, so the site won't work properly. The site admins probably know about the problem, but you can contact them at admin@identi.ca to make sure. Otherwise, wait a few minutes and try again." when importing my Twitter and I can't import my FriendFeed data so post you're links below P.S. you can find me here http://www.identi.ca/profitb...
- Nicholas James
it's an open source twitter that Federates a la Google Wave. It uses OAuth. you put it on your domain like wordpress and you can use "push" to send tweets to real-time Followers at any number of remote web sites.
- Brian Hendrickson
maybe I will use it more than Twitter at some point. Twitter does annoy me sometimes.
- Pete Gilbert
also, the two primary implementations of this protocol are both using "Comet" to push tweets directly into the browser a-la friendfeed
- Brian Hendrickson
Pete: I think I'll possibly use Identi.ca more that Twitter over time and I'll probably use it similar to how I use Tweetdeck as a service to send tweets to Twitter etc.
- Nicholas James
Brian: Thanks for the link to the presentation reminds me of what I originally thought Twitter should be especially when it was having problems (and still is) on stability regarding being decentralised.

"FriendFeed is a conversation agent which you can import your feeds and interact with other people by commenting and liking their stuff. It’s pretty cool: http://www.friendfeed.com/profitb... Nicholas James’s last blog post: Are Bloggers Really Your Competition?"
