Does anyone else find it interesting that since @mashable joined the suggested users list on twitter all they seem to blog about it twitter?
Mashable is still a great blog to read and still posts interesting content but all it seems to be doing after it got on the suggested user list (although you could argue it was gearing up to this before it made it onto the suggested user list) that they just talk about Twitter etc. I hope they start to post more varied content too! - Nicholas James
Noticed that too. But then everybody's talking about Twitter. Not that we're doing that of course. - phil baumann
it's all about the pageview. for those on the suggested list... more twitter posts = more retwats = more pv = look at the other poptech blogs on the list and you will see the same thing - i guess it's smart to do it. i still stand firm that the obsession with twitter blogging is out of control - Allen Stern
+1000 Allen!! Right you are about "...the obsession with twitter blogging is out of control" - Susan Beebe
Allen: I agree completely its just I wish they had more of the old mashable posts in between. I know we're in the worst economic times faced in the last century and that as a direct result ad spending is falling so more pageviews helps the falling price for the CPM's and accomodates revenue to pay writers etc and I don't mind that just it would be nice to see something different once in a while and not the same content when they post something different which I've already read about over at Techcrunch or Venturebeat. - Nicholas James
Phil: In comparison to other blogs I read its pretty much at least 90% of Mashable's content is dedicated to Twitter and the remaining 10% being about things I have already read on Techcrunch or Venturebeat. I'd like them to post some things different to Techcrunch and Venturebeat etc like they used too! - Nicholas James
Nicholas - I'd like to see different stuff too. I know TechCrunch loves Twitter talk too, but they seem to be keeping their eyes open to many other things going on. Wonder what Mashable's gonna do when Twittermania subsides. You do raise a good point, and your observations isn't lost. - phil baumann
Phil: Maybe FriendFeed will let them on their recommended list when users first join and they'll just talk about FriendFeed all day ;) - Nicholas James
Nicholas, we're trying to build more and more content. The thing is that Twitter just generates a ton of news, especially because of the app ecosphere. And phil: We did just fine before Twittermania. ;-) - Ben Parr
I must agree with Ben. It's all about reality .... "especially because of the app ecosphere". Reality carrys all of us away like a storm. Mashable is fantastic !!! go on doing your fabulous work. - Yair Olmert
Phil - Twittermania is not going to subside. At least not in the near future ! To me it seems somewhat like a new (web) religion. - Yair Olmert
