"You touched on a lot of the same feelings I'm experiencing now. Thanks for the post, as well as motivating me to take the plunge with your manifesto!"

"I like the fact that the logo is aligned right (as opposed to left), "getting out of the user's way" and making the app more accessible overall."

"i have a similar issue as @caio... when i restart terminal, and type "rails -v" it says -- Rails is not currently installed on this system. To get the latest version, simply type: $ sudo gem install rails -- Once I type "rvm use ruby-1.9.3-p0@rails32 --default" and "rails -v" it shows up... Is there something I should do differently?"

"great insight. really enjoyed the read. there's definitely a stigma when it comes to launching a product REMOTELY similar to an competitor's. you've provided really great advice on how not only to cope, but to persist in this type of terrain."

"i feel your pain. i encountered a similar experience myself with a potential co-founder. it sucks, but atleast you got it over with, you're wiser for the misfortune...it's important to remember that"

"i know what i'm gonna do...i'll just open up a dvd movie rental shop (oh wait), no, i got it, i'll open up a nice bookstore (well, wait...no), i'll just start selling chart-topping music CDs (hmmm, maybe not)....AH CRAP"

"The "it's not a sprint, it's a marathon" mantra comes to mind after reading this post...and I couldn't agree more. Entrepreneurship is about endurance. How else are you going to survive that 'overnight success' that really took 2 or 3 years ;)"

"awesome...couldn't agree more. you really do need to understand all aspects of your business on at least some intermediate (if not expert) level. i think there is a population of non-technical founders who tend to take the technical side for granted, thinking that they can get any code monkey to hack away some lines of code.... DO NOT BE THAT GUY, it is almost surely a recipe for disaster"

"really great topic....glad you brought this up. it's so often that you hear an entrepreneur talking about an idea and someone will ALWAYS say there's already an app for that (or some variation of said phrase). and many times that's all it takes to stop the entrepreneur dead in his/her tracks. it's a really interesting dilemma that most entrepreneurs face, especially in web startups."

"awesome post, straight to the point. i really like the black and white distinction and possible over-simplification when analyzing humankind. i've done it over here (just so happens we used the same title) : http://kevinpruett.com/the-two..."

"nate...thanks for the comment! first saw you with anyclip and have been following your success with ohours, nytm, etc. i was able to find a part time dev that helped me build out this prototype while i did the design, ui, ux, features, functions, elements, etc. while this has proven somewhat successful in launching a demo product, i am still looking for a local (NYC-based) dev who I can work alongside when we build out the product. by the way nate, would love to meetup via ohours and i'm itching to get started on "The "HoPE Manifesto". NoPE no longer!"
