I think a lot of people confuse their nationalism with patriotism. The former is uncritical in a "my country, right or wrong" way, while the latter accepts that one's nation--any nation--isn't and can't be perfect and acknowledges a need to work towards perfection even while it can't be achieved. - Steve Lowe
