"Tim Burton has confirmed that his next project will be remaking ABC's vampire soap Dark Shadows, whose rights are rumored to belong to Johnny Depp. This could mean we'll finally see our Johnny Depp vampire dreams come true."

I'm really excited to see where Tim Burton would take this. I like the original and the re-do in the 1990's -- this could end up being ridiculously cool. I'm hoping for Sweeney Todd levels of gore and over the top, but you know, something more nuanced could work too.
- Jennifer Dittrich
My wife heard that Johnathon Frid (The original Barnabus) may make a Cameo appearance.
- Brent - Long Live Rock
I loved Dark Shadows!! I watched it when I was about 11-12 years old. Scary, but I loved it. *oops...my age is showing...hahaha*
- Bonita Garrabrant
There are days I just wanna stop & rest like that. Can you imagine if everyone did that when the urge hit them? hahaha.

My mother one time lost me in the house. Couldn't find me anywhere. Panicked. Found me sleeping on a bookshelf.
- Akiva Moskovitz
i used to sleep in cabinets, akiva, same thing, my mom would panic and then find me hidden in a drawer of an armoir or under the sink. strange
- Melissa Maskevich
Just couldn't play another second.... Aw.

never wake a sleeping child, unless it is an emergency, or you are running late for school.

My dog has had seizures since he was a puppy, but they've gotten worse over the past year. Today, the vet said he is at the age where he might not survive many more. :-(
Oh no! Are there any medications that act as anti-convulsants in dogs? I hope your vet is wrong. <3
- joey
from Nambu
He's a cutie pie. Wish there was more than could be done for him. xo
- Fossil Huntress
There's always the chance the vet is giving me the worst case scenario. Last year, he had a really bad seizure that lasted longer than the others and the vet ran some tests, thinking he might have to be put down, and everything turned out ok. So here's hoping she's wrong!
- Trish R
Ugh, Trish--that really stinks. :( I know how hard it is watching them go through those seizures too. :( Give that cute pup a big hug for me...
- Kelly W.
Sorry to hear :( that and trust that the vet is wrong or he defies the odds so you two can love and enjoy each others company. :)
- James Stratford
James, I hope so, too. The vet didn't say "the next seizure will be his last," but she said that he's going to have more and more trouble snapping out of them as quickly as he has in the past, until they eventually weaken him to the point where he can't snap back anymore. :-(
- Trish R
Oh, Trish. What heartbreaking news. *hugs to you and the pup*
- cecily
sorry to hear that. that's very sad news. hope things get better
- Cee Bee
Just incredible. No wonder they sell for 5000-10000 GBP.
- Will Higgins™
i wonder if the photographer has been in danger at any moment. i'm sure he used a really big lens, but still when you're out there in the elements like that it could be a potentially dangerous situation

In the grounds of Château de Vauvenargues, near the Provençal town of Aix-en-Provence, there is a simple mound of earth, covered in grass and ringed by ivy. Perched on top is a curvaceous bronze nude, made by Pablo Picasso in 1933, and exhibited alongside Guernica in the Paris international exhibition of 1937. But, in terms of significance, it doesn’t come close to what lies beneath: the body of the artist himself. This summer, 36 years after Picasso’s death, the château in the south of France opens its gates to the public for the first time. The Spanish artist bought Château de Vauvenargues in 1958 after he discovered it in the foothills of Mont Sainte-Victoire, the mountain immortalised in countless paintings by Paul Cézanne, the man Picasso regarded as his artistic father. “The position of the château literally on Cézanne’s mountain made it like a magical object to Picasso,” says Bruno Ely, curator of the nearby Musée Granet in Aix which is holding a major Picasso-Cézanne...

Derrick, you're just doing it because everyone else already has. You've become a one man fad. ;) Welcome to the club. (last guy in buys a round)

I could see me walking in the door saying "but honey, they were all so freekin' cute I just couldn't pick one"....and then he'd divorce me.

All I know is that I was not able to find a good Mexican joint in San Antonio that serves decent chilaquiles. I sure hope that situation has changed, or I know what I'll be doing when I get there: opening a restaurant. :)

This is a tradition in our home for visiting bands as an "after show" meal. I cook the corn tortillas, then add scrambled eggs. After they cook I add Salsa de Pato and mix, then top with monterrey jack cheese and let it cook on low till the cheese melts. mmmmm.....good.

We actually had some flakes fall just long enough to look out the window while drinking hot cocoa....then they were gone by the time they hit the ground.

01-20-09: Watching the Inauguration of new President Barack Obama, marveling at Aretha Franklin's hat, Old man Potter Dick Chaney and I get a little mushy.
- Steve Isaacs

Steve - you're interpretation of Aretha Franklin made my day! *do it again - do it again*. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that had to be at work yesterday.
- Miranda
Aretha's hat was SOOOOO BIIIG!!! At first I was like EWWW, then when she sang, all the glitz made me go oooOOooooOOooo....still not sure if I liked it or not.
- dafire
I was pretty scattered in this one. The lady didn't like it, but I am happy with my Aretha Franklin noise™.
- Steve Isaacs
hahaha...you trademarked the noise!! Priceless...Aretha /sigh, fashion flawed as usual. Did someone actually agree with Aretha and said "Yes darling that hat is so fly (well it was trying to take her somewhere, Flying Nun anyone?). Bless her heart (A southern term for WTF).
- Tracy
That rocked!! It was warm as fuck in our house too...and our hearts...mostly cuz we knew "W" was back in Texas. Good riddance, indeed!!
- Bonita Garrabrant
My husband, my daughter, my son, my grandaughter, and myself all gathered around the television to watch. It was a bonding moment for the family as well as the country.
- Bonita Garrabrant
Spent most of time my time watching inauguration events on Facebook/CNN.
- Kevin Whalen
i couldn't stay up until 4 am to watch it. i fell asleep downloading ubuntu updates and watched it later on the msnbc website...
- Terry O'Fee
I love the silly things my kids say. 8-year-old grandaughter comes to dinner and sees me putting the garlic toast in the oven and says, "MoMo, I just want to remind you that I'm black toast intolerant". Awesome.

Hawaiian names are traditionally long, and in my opinion beautiful. My youngest has a short, yet lovely Hawaiian middle name. But to people who have never been exposed to this culture, sure I guess it would seem funny.
- Josh Haley
Being Hawaiian myself, I think they went over board with the name. I mean come on now... one Hawaiian middle name is enough. It is a beautiful name though.
- Miranda
Why does everything in Hawaiian sound like it's being spoken by a stutterer to me?
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
Josh - I love Hawaiian names too. Didn't recognize this as one at first. It seems like a mashup of Czech and ... Klingon. Do you live in Hawaii?
- Steve Isaacs
good god ...are you sure that isnt contagious? ....../me starts to feel itchy all over =P
- UncleCreepy13
It's that glottic stop that gets you every time.
- Victor Ganata
Steve: Josh was born and raised in Hawaii. The only thing that doesn't look Hawaiian to me in this name is the Wolf. Otherwise, it looks Hawaiian to me. There are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet. Pronounce each vowel... and you'll not see two consonants together.
- Trish Haley
If you were a teenager when The Cosby Show came out and watched Angel Heart in your formative years, you really aren't mad at anything she does. Why did she have to die in Enemy of the State?
- Bryan R. Adams
@Bryan: Because she told her idea of a good name for a son to the director?

For me, it's B. We all learn from our mistakes. That's a cliche for a reason, but in my life, I've played it far too safe for far too long, and at the end of the day, it's been disappointing. I'm embracing and looking forward to being more cavalier about taking more chances in life.
- Derrick
I'm not big on the whole regret thing, but if I had to choose, I'd go with B. There are a few things I wish I would have done but didn't and that time is past.
- James Ferguson
B The chances I haven't taken, too many to sum up.. Everyone makes mistakes, and there is much you can do about it.. I guess I need take more risks...
- Sebastiaan van den Akker
I'm with Ogden Nash on this one - sins of omission far outweigh those of commission
- Patrick Jordan
i regret both equally. although i don't necessarily regret either a lot.
- tiffany
"daddy?" - "yes son" - "what does regret mean?" - "well son a funny thing about regret is, that its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done, and by the way, if you see your mom this weekend would you be sure and tell her..." ;)
- mike "glemak" dunn
B. I was too careful most of my life. Taking chances has opened my life to new horizons.
- Carmen
Neither. We are linear beings. Regret is merely a sticky substance that we should avoid.
- ‘-.-’ Tutivillus Grift
I never regret mistakes. Of course, i've yet to make one that was devastating. We all do the best we can given our current circumstances. You can never expect more from yourself than you can give at any instance. Looking back and wishing it was different won't change the past. Mistakes are a learning experience.
- ·[▪_▪]·
well both of them are regretful , I think I may regret not taking my chances because mistakes should be in life ... and it is always with us ... when we do a mistake we learn something new and we get a new experience but when we don't take a chance , it may not come to us anymore
- Viva Vida
chances not taken - mistakes are opportunities for growth, missed chances are haunting
- William Harryman
Neither. Even if B) The chances I haven't taken are A) The mistakes I've made.
- Thierry R. Andriamirado
B. I had one or two chances that I didn't take. :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
Deleted my previous comment cause I was half asleep when I wrote it. I think you should strive to not regret these kinds of things. Mistakes are the only way you learn, I guess regret would be if you keep repeating the *same* mistake. So if I had to choose it would be B.
- mikepk
Neither . . . I believe everything happens for a reason and I rarely don't take a chance. But if I absolutely have to pick one then I'll go with B ;)
- Lindsey is Fierce!
I'm gonna say "A"...largely because I have a gun to my head with a demand that I do so, "or else". I'm pretty happy with the chances I've taken, and am not greedy. I have hurt people's feelings, and have behaved in less than exemplary ways, which I now, at times, regret.
- david beckwith
Regret is something that should not be. Everything happens for a reason, even bad choices. Instead of dwelling on regret and the things that could have happened, learn from the disappointments and grow into a better person.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
