My comment is because they can see by the flood of responses people are not happy and this post is just a smidge tacky. People are upset and feel betrayed and they haven't addressed that, not that I expected them too. This is pretty much inline with the way they've handled every other major change but before you only had a handful of disgruntles users whereas this time I'd say the majority are upset.

This is a very sad day in friend feed history. It is horrible because I like friend feed for how it's different from face book. I use facebook but I find it really annoying and I wouldn't use it if my friends and family weren't using it. So if Friend Feed becomes another facebook then i donno if I will keep coming to friend feed.

It would be great to think that the internet means artists can break free from the hegemony of major record labels, but it's so much easier to achieve this kind of result when you're Radiohead and you already enjoy a worldwide profile, courtesy of all the marketing money the major record label expended on building your profile for all those years. Still, we've got to start somewhere, I suppose.

Just tried to do the same thing myself, but not a "what will you pay", instead dumped it into mininova's free distro channel for copyright holders, so far, 24 hours into it, not bad, could not be happier.

demographically and behaviorally segmenting your audience is still important. would it have worked for dolly parton? nope. ultimately, you still, and always will, have to build a loyal audience.
